Bonnie Norfolk Doula

We reached out to Bonnie after a difficult birth with our second son. Bonnie helped us to prepare for the birth of our third son and create a thorough birth plan to avoid another traumatic birth. Nothing was too much trouble and there was no judgement on any of our wishes. With the birth prep, and hypnobirthing we felt better prepared to bring our third son into the world and I felt more relaxed and calm leading up to the birth. Having Bonnie at the birth gave me and my husband reassurance that we would be listened to and our wishes acknowledged. As a result we had a beautiful healing birth and having Bonnie on our journey was the best decision we made. Definitely worth the pennies!!

Bonnie provided postnatal support for the first few weeks after the birth of my first child. We developed a communication style that worked for us - I would send her really long messages in the early hours of the morning with questions or concerns and she would reply with the most detailed and supportive voice note or phone call to expand if I needed it. She also visited with lunch and for baby cuddles which allowed me to actually eat!! Without Bonnie’s support, those first few weeks would have been a very different experience, an experience that I now look back on so very fondly. So much so, I might even do it again (only with Bonnie’s support of course!!)

Bonnie has been such a comfort to me any time I have appealed for help with breastfeeding, sling wearing or any time my little girl has gone through any sort of leap.She's has an extremely comforting voice, not patronising at any point and always happy to help out of the goodness of her own heart.

Bonnie helped us to prepare for the home birth of our dreams, with everything we'd need and more. She pointed us in the direction of reading and resources that really helped prepare us for the rollercoaster that, unfortunately, we didn't get to have, as caesarian birth is where we ended up!Seven months on she's still here for us and wonderfully supportive.We've found that doulah support, the NCT course and a little bit of reading has prepared us brilliantly for parenting- though ofcourse it still isn't easy- but we feel it's been made much easier with Bonnie's help.

A Dad's Prospective.Bonnie has been our Doula for the birth of our second child. She has been nothing but superb.Our Doula for our first child nearly missed the birth as delivered was so quick, however the experience was so good we were committed to having someone again.Fortunately we lucked out choosing Bonnie.She has been nothing but outstanding. Having a baby that was 2 weeks late and being the calm port to turn to when the system was pushing us to have more scans and measurements and pushing to induce.A valuable calming and neutral person who helped us navigat the statistics and facts to help us make the right decision for our family. As a Dad she helped me protect and support my wife in her decision making.We knew that the 2nd child would be quicker than our first therefore we prepared for a home water birth with Bonnie and the Home Birth Team Juniper present. Good planning and support from Bonnie came in very handy when our Daughter arrived before Both of them and even before the Ambulance. She gave me to confidence to catch our daughter and to question the phone advice being given from the call handler. Bonnie is worth every penny to make the experience of Birth that much smoother.
