The Wivenhoe Trail
Nice walk with the doggos guaranteed they need a shower 80% of the time with the ventures into the mud well worth it and when coming from clochester way always a decent pub that's dog friendly at the end!

The Wivenhoe Trail
Tree-lined, sheltered route leading into central Colchester, by conveniently following the bank of The River Colne. The Wivenhoe Trail avoids all the traffic congestion from Clingoe Hill through to the Hythe. Suitable for hikers, dog walkers & mountain bikers, although it's a bit narrow in places for all to pass at once. A much more pleasant way from Wivenhoe into town than by using any of the local roads...

The Wivenhoe Trail
Well used trail from the Hythe area along the river bank and ending up next to Wivenhoe train station. Good for walking or cycling and now very popular just as a leisure route as well as for commuting to work. Plenty of wildlife if you look and listen for it.

The Wivenhoe Trail
Walked and cycled this trail many times. From Colchester to Wivenhoe it is cycle friendly. Wivenhoe onwards says no cycling but you will find people still doing it, and is a nicer stretch to walk. Back towards Colchester you can cross the railway (if walking) and over to the woods and parkland.Lots of wading and estuary birds, benches to stop at and views to take in. No busy roads nearby so can be nice and quiet when people are not around.

The Wivenhoe Trail
Relaxing trail alongside the River Colne, can get as far as Brightlingsea. Can get clogged with dog walkers during the day though

The Wivenhoe Trail
A nice peaceful country walk along the river, leading to the Hythe Quay, brilliant for dog walking, self de-compression, or with your loved one(s), highly recommend

The Wivenhoe Trail
Beautiful scenery once the Hythe is behind you. Watch out for cyclists, and flooding in the wooded areas after lots of rain. And to the reviewer below who said pity no beer at the end": just walk a teensy bit beyond Wivenhoe station for a few minutes to the amazing pubs in the town
