Ok pub. Ok food. Wouldn't rush to come back. However the service was very good. Polite and friendly staff. Decor ok, but outside looked very colourful and inviting. Car park a bit limited.

No options for vegans, did a veggie curry but chips, onion rings etc all done in beef fat. Ok if you are a meaty. Service for drinks very good and nice seating area outside.

It was pretty quiet but it was a Monday and they were kind enough to let us have dinner even though it was nearly closing time for the kitchen, so fair play to them. Food was good and the waitress was great, friendly and attentive. I bet the place is really good on weekends.

Avoid at all costs , tried to order x2 sea food platters to be told it’s too busy the chef hasn’t the time , there was only 4 other people in for food .So we ordered seafood chowder which was not so much sea food just soup , mussels which came wrapped in tin foil so the bowl wouldn’t get dirty they were like rubber .X2 fillet steaks asked to be cooked med-rare well they arrived after 70mins and where def boiled as they where grey .Chips and sauce was the best bit and that wasn’t much to write home about .Service was a shambles stay clear , go to a chips shop or somethingAnd it could definitely do with a cleaner about it

Excellent food and service in a lovely old country roadhouse-style pub - go for the chips alone!! From the photo you can see they have been hand-cut. They are double fried, I suspect in dripping, because of the wonderful taste, from local fields - a chap at the bar confirmed they were from the field next to his - exceptional!We went on a Groupon - steaks or sea bass - we both had steaks and they were cooked beautifully, the onion rings were lovely too, crispy and tender. This is a beautiful country pub with a deservedly excellent reputation for food. Wish we could have stayed longer and will certainly go back.

1st time here, there were 4 of us out for the day Called in late in the afternoon but was really surprised, great menu and reasonably priced lovely old worldly decor and a good atmosphereLovely outside entertaining area which would be great in the summer will Def be back

Service was glacially slow and bizarrely orchestrated. Asked for one more minute to make up our minds and it took 25 minutes for the waitress to come back and a second waitress came immediately after her to also take our order. As a group we ordered 3 starters and 3 mains but everything came almost at once such that there was not enough room on the table for all of the plates. We asked for water and ice 2-3 times as well as coffee, none of which came. Atmosphere was nice but the decor could use an update. I spent a long time contemplating a washed-out painting depicting a human sacrifice whilst I was waiting for my steak.
