At the start of July, I started looking for a different barber than my usual to do my haircut for my graduation cause I wanted it done really well, and also looked into a place to do a manicure and a back wax, just cause I always wanted them done and was using my graduation as an excuse to get them done. So I initially booked an appointment with Sam's Barbers Reading cause of the amount of reviews and how many stars they had, and then went to Hobson and Quinn to book for the wax and manicure. Vanessa was at the desk when I booked my wax and manicure and after talking to her about my hair as well, I ended up cancelling my booking from Sam's and booking at Hobson for my haircut instead cause Vanessa was just so much friendlier than Sam's (not to say Sam's wasn't friendly) and I just got a better vibe from her. I booked a wax and manicure with Jo and a haircut with Jessica on the same day for the Saturday before my graduation.Jo was amazing throughout the entire wax (my first time and it was my back and I'm South-East Asian so you can imagine how bad it was XD) and she was so patient and just a great chat through the experience, just so sweet and fun, making the whole process a lot easier for someone with low-pain tolerance like me (P.S. if Jo tells you to stretch during the wax, do it. Makes the wax so much easier). The manicure was done so quick and well and nails have never looked better, I grew out my nails for the appointment and honestly, worked a charm since they ended up looking so clean.My haircut with Vanessa was 100000% worth it. I'll admit, it was pricier than my usual barbers (nearly double tbh) but I am honestly thinking of switching cause I tend not to get my haircut that often since I can't be asked most of the time and it doesn't bother me, so the price isn't bad for the frequency I get my haircut. Booking with Vanessa is 100% worth it and I loved my hair during my graduation and how it's been since - so easy to style it any way I want nowadays with minimal effort.

Yesterday, I visited this hair salon for the first time, and I have to say, I had an absolutely fantastic experience! The service was top notch, and the lady who did my hair, Cynthia, did a phenomenal job. I'm so thankful for the great haircut I received. I'm sure I'll be back in the near future!

Decided for a last minute walk in. Cynthia cut my hair and trimmed my beard. Been a while since I've had time to have a nice cut but really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere rather than the rushed feel at a Turkish Barbers. Really impressed with the cut and fade, will definitely be going back!

This is the best barbershop I have tried in Reading. Vanessa is a perfectionist and always puts in the extra effort to give the best possible cut.

Great barber! All of the team are very friendly and professional and I have always received quality cuts. The prices are extremely reasonable given the service provided.

I saw all the good reviews and booked a signature cut with one of the barbers. Online booking is easy.The hair wash was ok. The hair was styled with a product and at the time, the haircut looked good as well.However, after washing the hair, both my partner and I started noticing unevenness and random long bunches of uncut hair all over and particularly behind the ears. As I went away the day after, I trimmed these myself.I don't think I'll be coming back. Shame I had such a bad experience with so many 5star reviews.

The service here is excellent and the staff are incredibly friendly. I've had Vanessa cut my hair for quite some time now. I'll be moving out of Reading but will come back whenever I get the chance to get a great haircut, but also for for conversations about each other's lives that I will miss.

Hobson and Quinn is probably the best place for me to get my hair cut out of all the places I've tried. I particularly enjoy visiting this shop because the barber Sean consistently cuts my hairstyle in a way that I adore. Other barbers are also good, but Sean is my favorite.
