These guys have been wonderful. Toby completed our building survey for us last year, which was carefully written without loads of generic standard paragraphs (something we have had from past survey reports), and identified numerous problems, which helped us negotiate £7,000 off our original ‘subject to survey’ offer. He was very realistic about what we should be concerned about, and what wasn’t so much of a priority, as well as what all the work might cost. We went back to him some months later to ask for help with a two storey extension we wanted. He and his colleagues drafted drawings for planning approval which we liked, and he then took it through the planning process. He then partly project managed our extension construction, which allowed us to get numerous different contractors rather than one, which was cheaper. He’s been on hand for numerous queries, and has always been pleasant but direct, and doesn’t stand for any nonsense! Extension now complete, and within £1,200 of the original budget – not bad for a £45k project. HS2 could do with him… would definitely recommend!

I cannot recommend Toby highly enough. We requested a full building survey on a house we are purchasing. Toby's correspondence was timely as was him arranging the survey with the vendor. We received the report within 3 days and it was very comprehensive and detailed, yet also easy to understand and interpret. It has allowed us to plan and prioritize the maintenance that will be needed in the near and longer term. Toby was also very helpful in responding and advising on a follow up query that we had. Overall outstanding service!

Toby recently completed a house purchase survey for me, which was completed very efficiently and was extremely thorough and considered. I would highly recommend him as a surveyor, and his willingness to discuss the contents of the survey as the house purchase proceeded was extremely helpful.

After noticing that our banks' surveyor had terrible reviews we were looking for someone to do a homebuyers report on a property we are buying. I came across Toby on google and he had great reviews. I spoke to Toby and he was very helpful and has been amazing! Everything has been done very quickly and thoroughly. He answered any questions we had in a lot of depth after the survey and even our estate agent asked about him and commented on how great he was. We highly recommend Toby and as first time buyers he has made this part of the process feel a lot less stressful.

Toby wrote a valuation of our home when we moved 2 years ago. He was polite and courteous and made every effort to be as speedy as possible both with the actual valuation and subsequent report.He was that good in fact that we later recommended him to a couple of people, including my Sister and we are currently in the process of hiring him again for another valuation of our current property.Cannot recommend enough.

We used Toby’s.services for the first time in 2019 to purchase a 2 bed Victorian terrace in York, we were very impressed with the response times to our initial enquiry and the quality of the survey report provided. This year when buying a second house in York we did not hesitate in contacting Toby again for the survey. Despite the housing market being incredibly busy, Toby responded promptly and booked in our survey within a couple of weeks. The level 3 building survey report was very detailed and outlined the remedial work that was required, along with information on how soon we should consider getting repairs completed and cost estimations.
