Brilliant easy to follow classes starting with the basics, icing on the cake is being able to watch the full lesson again afterwards. Jan is a great teacher. Can't wait to start again in September.

Jan is an excellent teacher. She makes the class interesting and fun for all abilities. You come away inspired and itching to do more!

I have just done 2 blocks of 4 lessons with Jan, on zoom over the lockdown period. Each class was around 2 hours time, and each 4 lessons focused on one type of painting/medium. I have enjoyed these lessons immensely. Jan chose pieces that were suitable for us to start with, then moved on to pieces that were more challenging. She always communicated the background knowledge to us before the lessons, gave us advice on finding the right resources，then guided us through the paintings during the lessons. We learnt a lot of skills during the lessons, then used our own time to finish our own art project. She gave us sufficient guidance, but also left us plenty of space for us to develop our own ideas and perspectives. Jan is so patient, easy going, calm, and nice! The group of students on the lessons were very nice company too, and we have a Facebook group to share our work and support each other. If any lessons we missed, we had video recording to catch up. I am so very grateful to my friend who recommended Jan’s lesson to me. It has reignited my long lost interest in arts. I’m in love with this new hobby in life! can’t wait for the next block of lessons to start!

When I first started at Artjam I couldn't paint or draw. But Jan taught me how to do both. I attach a couple of paintings I did. I would recommend Artjam if you want to learn how to paint in acrylic, watercolours etc.

Delighted to have found ArtJam. Jan is an innovative as well as patient teacher. For me, the main plus point is the variety of projects presented and the introduction and use of a wide range of media, which makes lessons stimulating and fun. Jan brings out the best in everyone. She engenders a great sense of mutual interest and encouragement within the group, both when classes are face to face and more recently, online. I look forward with eager anticipation to our next sessions.
