Called as part of a cycling group of 14.I was first to order a coffee but it never arrived.Owner did ask if everyone had got their order. I said I had not. The coffee still never arrived. However, what was very alarming was the way one of group was spoken to by the owner or manager for eating her own food. The owner did say that you can not eat your own food when we arrived, but the person concerned had not arrived then.I can understand the owner telling the person concerned that eating your own food is not allowed but she went completely over the top in the way she was aggressive and condescending. It was unnecessary and spoiled the atmosphere of a friendly bike ride get together. I very much doubt our group will revisit.I was told there is a £5 minimum card charge.

I visited Lizzie's Barn Cafe today with a cycling group. All was going well until the owner/manager of the cafe had a complete meltdown over one of our group eating her own food. She said she had advised the group that eating your own food was not allowed, fair enough, however the lady in question was not present when this was announced. Also this lady is awaiting an operation and is unable to eat certain foods and so needs to bring her own food. She had purchased her coffee from the cafe. The way the manager spoke to the customer was extremely rude and embarrassing and completely unacceptable. In addition, one of the group never received his order, despite pointing it out when asked if everyone had been served. Very disappointing! I will not be visiting the cafe again.

This is Not Liz at Buckingham Palace, but Lizzies Barn Cafe. You may make the same mistake if you were to visit which I highly recommend. The staff immediately made me welcome even in my mucky cycling gear, then quickly served a hot chocolate to die for being hot and chocolatie. It really hits the spot. Exquisite choice of cakes, lite bites , healthy options, proper portions, even the unhealthy breakfasts we all love. More filling meals are an option too, though these may defeat all but the biggest of appetites as they are a plate full. I now change my routes to make this a must stop on my rides, even when I turn up late I'm well looked after. So good I have called in for lunch with friends ,some non cyclists, all of whom commented on the excellent experience. As someone more famous than me said I'll be back"."

Popped in here today to escape the rain and despite the owners closing up as the rain was keeping everyone away, they were more than happy to stay open and welcomed us in. The owners were very friendly and chatty and advised what was on offer. We had homemade roasted tomato soup, with crusty bread. The soup was delicious and the bread copious!!We also had coffees and a lovely slice of carrot cake. Prices were reasonable but the quality was top-notch.Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly be returning.

Visited today to meet girlfriends for an early birthday celebration. On arrival we were made very welcome by the owner. Food was gorgeous, lots of choice. I had the roasted tomato soup which was divine. The homemade lemon drizzle cake is one of the best I’ve tasted. I would definitely recommend a visit and will return. A little cafe with a big personality.
