Roots Hall Football Stadium
One of the worst away days I've ever had! Stewards were miserable, rude and unfriendly. Facilities were lacklustre and lacking in a ground falling apart. The home fans were also thuggish, threatening and unfriendly. Honestly one of the worst grounds and places I've ever visited and my advice to any away fans visiting this dump would be mind your step, watch yourself and park your car well away from the ground.

What can I say about Roots Hall. It’s home to Southend United, who have struggled over the last few years, due to an owner who didn’t care about football.My son and I started attending games only this season, and I’ve found the staff / stewards to be really helpful and the fans to be welcoming and friendly.Now the club has been sold, we are looking to buy season tickets.The football being played is also extremely good for the league. So if you want an entertaining afternoon/evening for a great price, it’s worth a visit.

It's not bad that's for sure. It could do with some improvements. The facilities are adequate and the staff running bars and stewarding are fine. It's nothing special although it is good seeing the league they are in compared to other grounds in that league It's well up to standard like I said its not bad at all.

Classic old fashioned lower league stadium. The facilities are rustic, the technology non existent, the ticketing a disaster.,..But the club has great fans, noisy, dedicated, resilient and funny. The fans are much much better than the owner deserves and they do the club and the players proud.If you want to experience non league football at its best head to roots hall. It's worth it.

I've been going here since 1986. It's an old school football stadium: cramped, smelly, pillars block your view, seats are narrow but it's our football ground.

Good stadium. Toilets are rubbish if lots of away fans. Not too bad of a walk from the town centre if you want food and drink as an away fan as pubs around the ground are home only

Southend United have experienced some tough times lately, but neither the fans or the players are letting that get in the way of the football. Great atmosphere, good turn out (6k plus attendance) and reasonable facilities. Tickets are well priced and worth every penny. Safe for families and good fun.
