One star is being generous!!! I instructed Bowcliffe Surveyors to complete a full buildings survey on a house that me and my girlfriend are buying. It’s our first house so it’s the first time I’ve had a buildings survey done, however I most certainly won’t be a returning customer (I can imagine you could count them on one hand!). Not only were this company so poor at communication, they couldn’t even issue a report without a mistake on it.I instructed Bowcliffe to undertake the survey on the 8th April 2021 and were it not for being in communication with the seller, I wouldn’t have even known the survey had taken place. Is it too much to ask for a little confirmation? This surely can’t be common practice to not inform a client that the survey has taken place? I received the full report on 22nd April due to Bowcliffe requiring 10 working days to write up the report (3-5 working days seems to be the most common write up time for 3 other surveyors that I found). This report surely couldn’t have taken more than 4 hours to write. I understand that it’s not going to be in a day and that there may be other surveys that the company are conducting but surely 1 hours each working day should be enough.To top it all off I paid them the fee and requested it to be sent to my email address. I received nothing for 2 days and then my girlfriend told me that she received it 1 day before but due to her being at work she hadn’t checked her email. And why would she when I’m the one waiting for it! Even on the report 2 of the pictures don’t even correspond to the correct information. I thought I’d try to save a little money by going with Bowcliffe as they seemed to be able to offer the full buildings survey a lot cheaper than most surveyors and I decided that I’d ignore the terrible reviews but I should have heeded the warning!Do not use this Surveyor! Spend the extra money and use a company that will keep in contact with you, let you know what’s going on and send you a detailed report that isn’t wrong!
