Penguin Dry Cleaners

Went out of their way to clean my dress for a wedding the next day, after it accidentally got dragged on ground and had mud stains near hem. Job done within an hour.

This is by far the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. I asked for a brand new dress to be pressed after I needed to fold it to travel. When I received the dress there was an obvious crease that needed to be pressed. I pointed this out to the person working there, who said that is probably a stain that I created myself. I informed him that this was a brand new dress to which he responded that he would go press it in the back for me. This demonstrates that he wrongly accused me of staining my dress, and he was intimidating a customer into believing something he knew was untrue. If he had credibility in the industry, he would have recognized this was a crease and apologetically addressed it immediately after I pointed it out. When I returned home and tried it on I noticed several creases, pleated parts of the dress that were aggressively pressed down and flattened, and creases that shouldn’t have been there at all. I also noticed small black smudges on this new dress that were not there before I dropped it off to be pressed. I found penguin American cleaners unprofessional and unqualified and I would not recommend anyone use them. Now I do not have a dress to wear to the mayball I plan on attending tomorrow.

Highly recommend Penguin. I brought a dress in for a same day express clean which had tough wine and makeup stains on - he was very honest about likelihood of stains coming out in case i didnt want to go ahead but did - and he managed to get them all out and looks brand new! I know he paid special gentle attention and time to get the stains out which was so appreciated. Lovely gentleman too. Will definitely come back.

I've been a customer here for several months, and was happy with their dry-cleaning work but unfortunately, they didn't do a good job with my suit recently.It had several dirty spots when I took it out of the wrapper, and the pants were still wrinkled. It's as if they didn't even take the suit out for dry cleaning and just gave it back to me as is and charged me £27. I'm very sad that this happened, but I'm glad the suit wasn't in a worse condition than I gave them. I'll be going to another dry cleaner from now, and I cannot recommend this place.

I am very sad to leave this review. I took a ball gown with a back covered in sewed beads and when I went to pick it up the beads had lost their colour and most of them were gone. The company that made the dress certifies that it can be dry cleaned and that the beads were good quality and properly sewed. The dry cleaners will accept no responsibility for the damage to the dress and charged for its cleaning. A great example of very poor customer service and I am left with an unusable dress.I really do not recommend using this service

Took my mattress protector to be dry cleaned here as it is too big. Upon receiving the mattress it seemed like it was just given back the way I had left it - it did not seem like it had been washed. If anything it smelt unusual. Very poor service and extremely overpriced! Would not recommend!!

I can see there are mixed reviews here, but I have had a wonderful experience with Penguin Dry Cleaners. Being one of the only ones that are close enough that I can het there without my bike (quite a lot of faff with a dress) I am very happy I ended at penguin. Quick and nice service, cleaned my favorite dress twice, Penguin drycleaners is an essential for a clumsy student like me.

I left my wool coat for dry cleaning. It was the worst experience ever. There were several food stains, which I previously showed and I was told that there would be no problems with cleaning. As a result, they returned my coat, which not only left all the stains in their places, but also the fabric was damaged - it lost its softness and appearance. To my question what happened, I was offered to clean the coat again or pick up what is there and pay, while they tore it out of my hands. I didn't want the coat to be completely ruined and I had to pay and leave this terrible place with a ruined coat. I do not recommend anyone to be in my place. Terrible place, guys don't know what dry cleaning and service is. Photos are attached

The man running the place advised me against cleaning a pair of jeans that were stained with ink as it would ruin the jeans even further. For that reason I didn't proceed, but I have to praise the honesty of the man who showed integrity, if it were a chain they'd have taken payment, ruin the jeans and not take responsibility. Recommended

Absolute lifesaver! I got butter on my ball gown the night before the ball (long story) and I was desperate to find somewhere that could take my dress. As it couldn’t be dry cleaned and I had only a few hours, a lot of places wouldn’t take it, but Penguin did and had the whole thing stain-free and pressed with a few hours left for me to get ready! Absolutely worth the money and the extra for the express service I needed! Highly recommended
