SC Designs (Scotland) Ltd

Got a quote from this company just before Xmas. Held off as we had a better quote from elsewhere. Got an email in January to say £300 could be taken off the price which would have brought it down to around £5000. We had then found tiles supplied by a different company that also supplies sc designs and in that found a better selection that were a lot cheaper than what was given on the quote. Including the tiles, the only other item we requested to change was the toilet and cistern which in total would have saved an additional £250. Bringing the cost down again. The communication from Gemma was awful. No reply on a couple of occasions and then after us emailing again, the e-mail reply was not the easiest to understand as it was written in broken English. Eventually we got a revised quote which had items added on that we did not ask for (led lights) being the main one and several of the items like the sink, vanity unit changed to different items we did not ask for. The price difference from the original quote was only around £150 less when it should have been at least £550 (with the £300 discount that was offered). It was quite clear that Gemma was trying to pull a fast one in thinking we would not notice the change in items and prices as having so many items for a complete bathroom overhaul could be easily missed if you don't go through everything individually. Again, after spotting several issues with the quote we decided to give sc designs one more chance to rectify this but once again we were ignored and over a week later still no response. The whole experience has certainly put us off ever dealing with this company. If this the service provided before having any work done, I fear for what would happen if an issue came up after getting the work done. Not to be trusted and the manner in which the 2nd quote was done has left me with the impression that this is a cowboy company who will do and say anything to get a sale. I run a business myself and can safely say, I would not tolerate this from anyone working for my company as it would be my reputation on the line. Avoid!!! (written after company response) - Firstly, the whole point in writing a detailed review is so that you know exactly who we are. Nothing anonymous about that. The fact that you have said ‘refrain from using your name’ & ‘aware of who you are’ comes across in quite a threatening manner and is a terrible way to respond. Secondly, the majority of what you have said is fabricated and did not happen. We also have an e-mail chain, a call log and literature that refute your incorrect claims. I would be here forever going into specifics but I am quite shocked at your response and the amount of events that you claim took place that did not happen. Thirdly, you have made out that a free quote is an extraordinary service you have provided and you are doing us a favour. I can 100% say that every company we approached gave a free quote, made changes when required and provided an all-round better service than your company. So I can ‘guarantee’ that I have had a better and more compressive service from other bathroom companies in comparison to yours. Lastly, Your comment of ‘ a personal attack on Gemma’ is an absolutely ridiculous comment to make. Like we have just decided to pick on a random person we barely know and make stuff up about them. This is obviously a tactic to try and deflect the negative attention away from yourselves and make out its the customer who has a personal agenda. Nothing personal about it. I guess all the other 1 star reviews you have received are all personal attacks also??? Hmmm, I don’t think so.Going by your response it’s not just the employee but the company that operates in this unprofessional manner.If you had put as much effort into your customer service as you have with your response we may be having a different conversation. This is an honest review of our experience with your company. I just simply can't stand poor customer service and unprofessional practices. Anyone reading your response I'm sure will be just as alarmed as me.

Fab job and a year and a half on it still looks great!!

Had my bathroom done with SC Designs job started on the 18th oct 2021 finished on the 21st oct and I now have just had jobs finished last week, had lots of small issues and my bathroom is not what I was told it would be ? And got the toilet lid fixed and now I don’t have the soft close function anymore ? Had to get smaller sink because of the way they put my bathroom and told I was not entitled to a refund as they had to source a smaller sink from Elsewhere.When I spoke to one of the management on the phone I said I would like if one of them would come and look at my bathroom it seemed to fall on deaf ears. I just feel now they have my money and they don’t seem bothered.

We used SC designs for our kitchen. My husband didn’t want anything to do with it and wanted someone else to project manage from start to finish. This is exactly what we got from Scott. I made some tweaks along the way which he accommodated without fuss. I had a very definite idea about what I wanted and he encouraged that whilst advising how to achieve it. SC Designs basically ripped the whole kitchen out back to a shell and started again. So plastering, electrics, tilling etc as well as the kitchen itself .The finish is excellent and I am thrilled to bits with it! Scott has really high expectations of his team, this is very much to the customer’s advantage, he expects perfection . We hit a major snag when during the install my old boiler died on us and was condemned. Scott offered us heaters for that night and ensured we got our new boiler fitted ASAP and any re-work to the kitchen would be taken care of. The price we paid didn’t change regardless of how long the job took and what work electricians etc had to do to get it right. Everyone who came to our house was friendly and we trusted leaving them to it. I would recommend SC Designs to family and friends and I don’t take recommending to others lightly.If you use this company for a kitchen get the best work top you can afford, we got stone and it’s so much nicer for it!NBI’m writing this review after we had a small leak under the sink and the plumber was literally out ASAP to fix it. It was nothing major but the after care reminded me I still needed to leave this review!Thanks & Well done to the whole team.

Bathroom fitted 4yrs ago, had furniture replaced twice, had a leak 2yr ago which went into bedroom next to bathroom, fitted wardrobes ruined! Now had another leak, this time water coming down into kitchen causing kitchen ceiling to crack. AVOID

What can I say. Over the moon with our new kitchen. Fantastic service from SCS from our 1st contact in the showroom through to the final installation. Great advice at the design stage on the best layout for the space, the choice of finishes, and the colour matching of the units, worktops and flooring. Finished on time and on budget, with a few additions/amendments done at no extra cost. And the team really cleared up well behind them before 'handover'. Top class job.

From our initial appointments at SC Designs showroom through to completion, the whole process was seamless, we kind of knew what we wanted and were helped by Gemma to achieve that. We were given dates for our bathroom starting and that’s exactly when it started - the guys were in, ripped the old bathroom out, prepped for the new one going in, cleared away all the rubbish and were finished by 3pm. The tiler arrived next day and tiled top to bottom in a day, plumber next day and that was it.....3 days and done, the guys cleaned up after themselves every night too.Everything is covered with SC even down to putting letters through your neighbours doors to let them know there will be work going on and vans around. They’ve thought of every little detail !We will NEVER use individual tradesmen again. Honestly can’t recommend SC enough.

Outstanding service from a highly qualified experienced team - from start to finish we had a great experience with SC Designs. Scott designed our dream kitchen, complete with flooring throughout the hall and conservatory, and a fitted dining bench with extra storage. The guys doing the work were a brilliant bunch of lads, hard working and good chat. Very responsive and quick to solve any issues post-completion (not that we had many; two very minor things) - would highly recommend SC Designs to anyone looking for a high quality professional job.

To all the team .Would just like to thank everyone at sc designs for fitting my beauitful new kitchen . There was building work done windows taken out, back door taken out and a new window put in ,wall taken down, and French doors fitted. The guys were great and such a lovely bunch of guys nothing was too much trouble and their workmanship was amazing couldn't recommend them highly enough. Scott and Christine were great too , Scott made me a table to match my kitchen . The girls in the showroom were lovely too .
