Me and my friends came here last night for a Christmas meal and drinks the drinks and pudding and starter was good but the Roast dinner was not good the turkey had a sludgy texture to it the gravy was really thick and the veg was hard my friend didn't even eat hers only upside is my friend got a refund for hers and we were offered a free round of drinks I wish I had ordered from the main menu and not the festive menu

We had breakfast here whilst my husband was undergoing an operation at the JR hospital, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and after going off to spend some hours elsewhere (as the operation was set to be at least 12hours ) we returned to purchase an afternoon meal .The food was plentiful and very good value for money. The staff too were lovely, friendly and helpful.If we are back in the area we will certainly return to this little gem

White Horse is my favourite Green King pub, because it is basically still a Hungry Horse. Great menu of unwise proportions and great prices.We had the steak and burger combo. Perfect for when you can't decide between the two. In my opinion the burger was the best by far. A lovely burger, while the steak was a bit too chewy for my liking.My kids ate off the kids menu and loved their dishes too.Toilets are important when you're eating this quantity, and this is a lost star for the White Horse. Men's loos had the choice between loose toilet seat #1, loose toilet seat #2 and the cubicle with not one but two broken locks. While it is nice to have options, I wish there was a fully functioning option.Finally, you get 4 hours of free parking, which is great for the hospital. The best combo of all is a trip to the John Radcliffe to get your high blood pressure examined, followed by a dirty burger down at the White Horse.

Good space for free parking (validate car reg inside). Not good for coeliac as kitchen can't guarantee no cross contamination. Also the non gluten options do not include fries which is a shame and would seem like an easy win. Staff was very helpful and tried their best to accommodate with alternatives.

Food is always good if the boss is on duty.The service and staff always makes visiting the pub a fun experience.Menu choices and daily deals are extensive and varied.Thanks chef for a steak cooked to perfection.I would always recommend this fun pub for meals and the convenient and ample parking available.I would also recommend a night out at The White Horse when local DJs play. A opportunity to dance and sing makes for an excellent Night.13/07/2023I had a really lovely dining experience this evening at this fabulous pub!I couldn't be bothered to cook this evening and so decided to go check out the new menu advertised online.Being a Thursday, the deal was a free starter or dessert with any dish from the Super specials section of the menu.I had Halloumi strips for starters. I found them very salty for my taste and I didn't really find the quantity value for money at £5.29 had it not been for the Thursday deal.I chose the newly introduced Jerk chicken.Although it wasn't authentic in flavours, it was absolutely delicious, well cooked and nicely presented. Consisting of about four wings and half a chicken and on the bone.A reasonable effort was made to create the authentic rice and peas" but it didn't come close.Having said that it tasted very nice with it's black beans and delicate and mild spices and colour. It was more akin to a Mexican rice than Caribbean.All this was accompanied by a delicious a tasty fresh homemade coleslaw.I would still definitely recommend it!I also took the opportunity to ask about the changes to the Wednesday deal on wine. Formally £5 a bottle

It is a very friendly place and I really really enjoyed the environment.What I have tried in Oxford I recommend this place for its reasonable prices and it's full portions. I also like the fact that there is a wide variety of dishes in the menu.When I went there it is a bit crowded so I ordered directly at the cashier and enjoy a conversation while I waited for my food.If you're visiting Oxford, this is a place you will really want to try.

*Totally avoid Sunday breakfast.*While the food is decent, service is poor. Coffee sucks, as the machine seemed to be switched on only after the order was made, at 10.30 am.Got cutlery that wasn’t clean enough and when requested for a fresh pair, the staff was trying to justify the condition instead of being apologetic before/after replacing it.There was hardly anyone else and still no value for customer or to make things better. Smelly toilets add to the unpleasant experience.All 3 stars go for the food.

Came for lunch. Most of the tables were still not wiped down and menus were dirty. Chicken was burnt as well as the potatoes. Complained to staff member who replaced the potatoes. Potatoes were hard in the middle and brown on outside. Waitress apologised and gave us free deserts. I am surprised meals were sent out in this condition. Table opposite left most of their meals also. We won't be returning.

Family gathering for Xmas. Table three.warm greetings from the manager and staff. We ate from the Xmas menu. The food was devine. Highly recommend the pigs in blankets for the starter. Steak and prawn combo was lovely. Great price as well.All in all a fantastic experience. Thank you to all the staff.
