Do not use.Seen multiple reviews regarding late cancellations, decided to give them benefit of the doubt and booked. Only for them to cancel my appointment on the day then say the refund takes up to a week.Awful service!

I’ve been to Halfords twice now and their customer service has been excellent! They’ve made it beyond clear they’re not just trying to rinse the pockets they can… especially being a young female. I’ve unfortunately had this happen at many local garages! Both times I was served by the manager down there and he always explained everything so well. The first time I booked a free car check as I knew I had a headlight out… they replaced it for free! Just a couple of weeks later I had the engine light come on my dash, which I assumed was linked to a fault I was aware of. I booked a diagnostic check online, they took a proper look at it and removed the light on the dash, they weren’t certain of the fault but said it was the type of work they do anyway. But either way they explained well what they had discovered and refunded the diagnostic booking! I won’t hesitate to come back, the manager and his team seem to be doing a great job down there!

Took my car in for its MOT and it needed some repairs, I was kept informed by Martin who was extremely helpful and explained what needed to be done to pass its MOT, he kept me informed during the day, he was very polite and they even managed to get it done on same day which I was very pleased about.

My experience was brilliant I have no complaints at all. Martin who serviced my car was very helpful & Sam that was the technician was also really helpful. The customer service. Very lovely gentleman. They fixed my car really quickly as well :)

Where do I start with this one, booked in for 2 rear tyres and a mot. Car failed the mot which they tried to resolve which I appreciated, however, they then proceeded to keep my car in the garage for 2 weeks with little communication and every time I rang up they had still not done my tyres. When I finally got through to them the reason they had not done my tyres was because they wasn’t sure if I wanted a refund due to failing mot, which was very odd and never heard this before. When they finally got round to replacing both rear tyres, they had informed me the front drivers side tyre had a chunk missing out of it so they put on one of the rear tyres taken off on the front. This was done without my permission and they had placed a mot fail rear tyre with no tread on the front and taken off the tyre when it had good tread left in it. The reason why they switched it round was because they said they didn’t want me to get a fine of an mot fail, however the tyre the put on has no tread and therefore still a fine/mot fail of caught. Following that, my divers side door now does not unlock from the outside since having t in their garage. I would avoid this garage at all costs, they have no idea what they are doing.

This garage managed to cancelled three Saturday MOT appointments with less than 24hrs notice for each of the appointments over a three week period. Leaving me without the use of my car (due to the previous MOT expiring), until I could find an alternative reliable garage to MOT my car on another Saturday afternoon. I won't be wasting my time next year on this garage.. Reading other reviews this seems a regularly occurance at this branch with sometimes only email notification shortly before the cancelled appointment.

I took my car today to have an MOT and the service I experienced was exceptional. Firstly, I had to last minute rearrange my MOT which they accommodated without hesitation. Secondly, Not only did my car pass but they also superglued the top of the gearstick head that had come loose and was on my to do list for quite some time! Thanks again to Martin and the rest of the team. One happy customer!

Hi Halfords!!My appointment was booked for 3:30pm and I was there on time at the front office and met Mr Martin.He said for changing 2 tyres and I have requested and paid for my 4 wheel alignment online 4 days before which will take 2 hours and asked me to be back by 5:30pm in between he said he will give me a call if there is anything but unfortunately he was busy with work.When I reached back to the garage by 5:30 they didn't finish the work not even changing the tyres!! He want me to wait another 30 minutes which I did and finally he said there is some problem with the suspension so he won't be able to do the 4 wheel alignment and he will do the refund.when I said this is not what I expected from halfords so he offered me even he can do the 4 wheel alignment for free and he will mention that in the invoice but Mr Super Smart Manager Mr Martin didn't mention that in the invoice!!That's completely fine I don't need his fee bee!!I will Never recommend halfords to anyone in my family and friends especially Halfords Autocentre Ipswich IP1 1UZSuch a terrible service!!Keep up the good work Mr Martin and halfords!

I have been lied to and messed around too many times by this particular garage Halfords Autocentre Ipswich in Commercial Road. I paid and booked online for a service, and 15 mins before appointment time (as I was driving there to drop off my car), they cancelled on me with an excuse of 'electrical fault'. I waited 2 weeks for another appointment because it was either reschedule or refund. I didnt realise how bad this garage was in the beginning so I chose to reschedule, thinking refund will take them longer to process. Anyway, I spoke on the phone about 3x since to confirm my new appointment, and each time the staff doesnt have a clue and keeps mentioning the wrong dates / vehicles that have nothing to do with my booking. I was promised a call back today which did not happen, after the garage rudely hung up on me because I asked to confirm my new appointment time and date. They said they had no access to the computer data and busy in the middle of something so doesnt have time to talk to me or answer my questions. Excuse me but im a paying customer? Now I've learned my lesson not to use this garage ever again because the staff are horrible especially ones that directly answer phones - unprofessional and rude. At the end I never received the service I paid for. I will warn my family and friends not to ever visit this garage due to poor service. I would like a refund asap please. Will take my business elsewhere thanks.
