We parked our Motor home in the car park over night in return we agreed to eat in the pub and we weren’t disappointed. The menu offered all the pub favourites plus a few specials. I chose the Gammon steak which was huge. It came with egg, chips, pineapple, mushroom, onion rings, salad and I ordered a side of coleslaw. It was perfect.My wife went for the Ox Cheeks a favourite of ours from Spain. With creamy mash and fresh veg it was perfectly cooked and delicious.The pub itself is excellent with several different bar areas. We chose the Fox Den an old fashioned Snug with leather seats.There is a large covered seating area at the rear that looked appealing even in the rain.Staff were really friendly and helpful.This is a great pub though they didn’t have a large range of beers and wines the food is the main selling point.We will definitely come back and I would recommend this place, especially to motorhomer’s visiting the area.

Me and my partner always drive past here and say we will go in but never did. Today we decided to and had a beautiful roast dinner. We both had the pork dinners. Portions look small but it’s deceiving as everything is hidden under the massive, delicious yorkshire pudding. We were quick to get served and seated and food was quick to come out too which was good as we were absolutely starving. The pork was lovely and soft too, barely any fat and they didn’t skimp on it either. Only complaint is that we wish we came here sooner! We will 100% be back.

Called in for lunch and chose the meaty sharing platter. Everything was well cooked and very tasty. However, we found the selection of accompanying dips bizzare. Guacamole, salsa and soured cream is fine with nachos but with chips, sausages, wings, duck rolls etc ??? we should have had dips that complimented the food. We asked for ketchup and were given 3 sachets of unbranded stuff. Please change your dip selection and it would be a great plate of food.

Great pub, we stayed overnight in our campervan van, which wasn't a problem at all.The staff were excellent and service second to none. The two girls behind the bar were very efficient and friendly.We also had an excellent meal, the belly pork was beautiful.Will definitely be going back.

Food was absolutely beautiful. Very fast coming out as we pre ordered for a big group. Kids meals were big portions too !

Sadly didn't quite hit the mark. Stopped for food and went into the main bar/restaurant area. Great ceiling area with beams and hung hops which look great and fit a pub theme, but the area in general just lacks warmth and character. Even the dining tables are out of place and more what you'd expect to be outside or in a cafe. My meal (the Fox Burger) was tasty, but just a little too salty for my taste, that said, anyone who salts their food would be OK but I never salt my meals. My partners meal had overcooked pastry on the pie, and the green beans were under cooked, so based on price, taste and comparison with other similar places sadly I can only say OK and not a wow that makes you want to return. Overall, OK, but I'm looking for better than that.

Great food (Steak and Ale pie delicious) and 2 of my favourite beers, Timothy Taylors Landlord & Old Speckled Hen, on draught! Friendly staff, huge car park, lovely village just outside Newark. What's not to like!

Always driven past here when I work around the country and tonight realised I was staying just around the corner so I thought I would give it a go.The staff are very pleasant, it was a warm welcome the food was absolutely lovely I had brie to start and then the fox inn Burger for mains.Everything tasted like it was homemade with a perfectly seasoned burger which if it is brought in I want to know the supplier as that tasted homemade and perfectly seasoned will definitely be visiting again. Prices were reasonable and genuinely a great little pub.

Great location!We had a very nice time in this inn and had a delicious meal.While paying at the bar we had a very nice conversation with the lady behind the counter.We wish the pub all the best and would be happy to come back next time we visit England.Best regards from Katrin and Uwe from Germany
