Plymouth Blood Donor Centre

This is a small setting by appointment only. The staff are well versed and very friendly. Upon arrival you fill out some paperwork. When it's your turn, you will be taken to a private cubicle for more in depth questions and a test to see if your iron levels are safe. If all is looking good then you will be put on a bed and your donation begins. Afterwards you can relax with a beverage and some snack to get your fluid and salt levels back up.

No hygiene, very dirty and the nurse who took my needle out damaged my nerves. Not going to donate blood ever again.

If walking, go past main entrance then turn right down the hill. If driving, the nearest car park is C.However, you will have to pay to park. I believe that there are 4 free parking spaces that donors can use in one of the main car parks.Look for the large cream chimney as the centre is situated next to this.Upon arrival you are greeted at reception & they run through security checks.You need to drink 500ml of water & have a (supplied) snack before you donate. You will also need to read the donation information beforehand also.Donating blood takes around an hour from start to finish.Whilst donating you can choose to watch their TV, read or check your mobile.The staff are very attentive, caring & knowledgeable.After your donation, when your blood gets used, you will be informed which hospital it went to.

Went to donate for the first time today so was a little (a lot) nervous. The staff there were ALL completely amazing and so friendly, they made me feel so comfortable. They centre is so organised and the whole process went smoothly and quickly.

So easy to give blood these days. After years of thinking about giving blood and never getting round to it I have now done it 5 times in just over a year. You can register online and book or change appointments via their app, they are now doing 5 days a week. There are donor centres all over and you can book wherever is best for you. The app also has loads of information for all your queries for all you first timers. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Donations take around 30 mins in total including pre checks and setup and afterwards you get a drink and snack. Parking here is free for donors curtousy of their donors parking area which is coded on exit. Dont be tempted to use it if you are not donating as you will only get the code after donating. Get donating and help to save lives. You know it's worth it.

First time donor and a huge thank you to all at the Centre - exceptionally professional, dedicated and personable staff providing a sterling service. From the moment you book in at reception to the tea and snacks at the end everyone makes you feel comfortable, lots of laughter and a fantastic atmosphere. Thank you all so much and see you again in 16 weeks.

Myself and my girlfriend went to give blood for the first time and we were a bit nervous about it. All the staff were really, really great, patient and kind, especially when I almost passed out. Absolutely lovely people and a good environment to be in, free drinks and snacks for Donors too. We went in on time and true to their word we were about an hour after sitting down to recover.
