Whittington Wharf Narrowboats Ltd, Canal Boat Holidays

We enjoyed 4 night -5 days narrow boat trip. Perfect boat. We had some questions to operate the boat during the trip and could reach staff by phone very quickly a d solve problems. It looks a bit far from llangollen but we found that this place is very good to go other places after we went through llangollen aqua duct. When we went back, we had a flat tire with our car but a staff kindly and quickly filled air by compressor and we could go to the nearest garage to fix the car.

First time booking a canal boat holiday and absolutely loved it. Staff were lovely and helpful. I was nervous to begin with but received a great briefing and learnt a lot on route. The boat had everything we needed and the route to Llangollen was stunning. Definitely will be booking in future.

Took a day hire from Whittington. Perfect day out for young or old. We went to Chirk aqueduct & back. Lovely countryside. Well equipped, comfortable boat, quiet engine, everything worked perfectly. Friendly & really helpful marina staff. 5⭐

We had an excellent holiday on our boat from Whittington Wharf Narrow Boats. Sandra helped with the bookings and was tremendously helpful and friendly. Andy did the takeover briefing and his cheerful yet informative instructions set us up for a great adventure to Llangollen Basin and back. The boat had excellent equipment, it had been cleaned and shone like a new pin when we started out! Thanks to everyone at Whittington for the friendly, helpful attitude! You're great.I highly recommend Whittington Narrow Boats!!

Super place. Very nice service that explains everything perfectly. Of course, you need to be fit for such a boat trip. It's best to watch some filming on the internet for this purpose and read their website.

Great place to sit and relax, and watch the narrow boat pass. The landlord is ace, and the beer is good. The food also looks great but we didn't eat there on this occasion. I will definitely be visiting again.

we ve got a wonderfull week of hollidays from 12 to 19 dec, it was very cold and as the canal never freezes, we took of on monday 12 , we received a very clean, pre-warmed and well equiped narrowboat, genie in the lamp and started upstream , heading for llangollen , the first night we moored in the middle of nowhere, at a marvelous mooring place with vieuw over the welsh countryside, we saw squirrels in the threes and lots of waterbirds in the prairies, good to be so close to nature, next morning we took of,passed the locks and arrived after the first aquaduct in chirk, nice little town, good walking and a drink in the pub, slept at the mooring just before the tunnel, freezing cold outside, but feeling home inside, nicely warm, next morning, ice starts forming on places without current but the canal stays free of ice, so we went on to llangollen, passed the biggest aquaduct ever done, what an experience, passing trough very long narrow parts of the canal and arrived at llangollen, harrypotter-station, nice little village , snow on the mountains, freezing goes on , ice starts to form , and when we went turning at the turning place all the narrow boats moared in the marina stuck in the ice, we could break trough , went back to the winter mooring place of llangollen and did the walk to the horse shoe falls, magnificant peace of nature where the canal takes her water from the river dee, the morning after, ice all around, mail to the wharf what to do? Got a mail back very soon that we didn t have to worrie and could wait for the ice melt down, in between we made the walk to sun trevor pub, saw kites and buzzards, nice place where our dog was very wellcome,, very good food in the evening and very friendly staff, recomendable, on sunday , the tourist narrow boat from llangollen broke the ice for us up to the aquaduct in pub, where we got stuck again, and staid for another day , wharf did contact us to ask if we did need help or if we wanted to leave gave us the possibility to be picked up and leave the boat for being brought back by themselves, we choosed to stay as the forecast was warming up and we arrived back on monday at 14 h, just in time to leave for the ferry after a restgiving, peacefull ice adventure on the llangollen canal, we can only advise every nature loving one to do this on his own, go to whittington, rent you a narrowboat and go for it, you ll be surprised by the friendly staff, the nice (warm) well equiped boats and the beauty of the canal,the temporary crew of genie in the lamp

We have hired several canal boats in the past, our boat Carry On was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable and it was well equipped. I would certainly recommend this boat yard on the Llangollen Canal in our experience far better than some of the better known companies with lots of bases. The llangollen and Montgomery canals are peaceful, scenic and a delight, ideal for a first trip and a must for those who like canal boating.

These people are helpful beyond your expectations and hopes . I was not a normal customer but they were incredibly helpful from start to finish.Lovely operation and my boat was delightful…. 10 out of 10 at least
