I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Toukon Academy, it has been tough and I have struggled to pick things up but Dave and the team have all been really supportive in helping me understand the concepts. There are always higher belts that help with training who are happy to correct and assist with techniques.It is a friendly place to come and students learning is at the fore front of all the sessions. The sessions are tough and good fun at the same time. I would highly recommend the Toukon Academy to anyone that is interested in starting out in Jiu Jitsu!

I have just completed my first 100 days as a member of the Toukon Academy and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking about trying out Jiu-jitsu. Having never done a martial art and not a frequent gym goer I was nervous about joining, however from the very first beginners lesson Dave the head trainer puts you right at ease. His lessons are extremely accessible with great patience and understanding towards every pupil. Dave is brilliant at showing you the fundamentals, practical application and the thought process behind applying your Jiu-jitsu through clear instruction with a good bit of humour! The community at the Academy is wonderful, with people of all ages, backgrounds and levels learning together. Plenty of friendly faces and more knowledgeable members makes the lessons enjoyable and worthwhile. I would definitely recommend the Academy to anyone thinking of joining!

Having just completed my first 100 days, I thought now would be a great time to give The Toukon Academy the kind of review it deserves.I started my 4 week introductory course last year and was hooked after the first couple of sessions.I came to learn Jiu-Jitsu but I decided to stay because of how fantastic a Coach Dave is.His level of passion, enthusiam and patience is next to none.It's clear Dave's spent time learning so much more than he needs to know to coach Jiu-Jitsu, I think he might know the name of every muscle and bone in the body!He's a master of his craft and he cares about every student in the class, I've seen him welcome multiple new starters and immediately put them at ease.So if you're interested in learning Jiu-Jitsu, sign up for the next 4 week introductory course and you'll get great coaching, with a great community as well.See you on the mats!

Incredible coaching, and super friendly atmosphere. Very rare to find a BJJ academy that has zero ego. Highly recommended for both experienced and newbies.

I started to Toukon Academy after a disappointed couple of lessons at another club where the consistency in training I feel was lacking. After attending a class I jumped straight in with both feet, best decision I made for my Jiu-Jitsu. The quality of training at Toukon Academy is very good with techniques broken down into detail and time is spent ingraining those techniques. The tuition is second to none for me as a mere white belt and several black belts have been graded here. Classes are popular and the students show good understanding of Jiu-Jitsu. The introductory course is good value for money as you essentially pay for a Gi and belt. Rolling sessions are hard, as it should be, but higher grade belts are just as helpful to aid you in your development with tips and analysis or your positions. It is a pleasant place to train and everybody is made to feel welcome. Words often used but when your Professor can recall the names of every student .......

Really great place to train BJJ, coach David is really helpful and encouraging.The community is very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend training here if you’re looking to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu.

It will be the best decision you ever made to join Toukon Academy.I quit smoking and quit alcohol. I was looking for a new healthy addiction and as a UFC fan I decided to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.From the start, Head Coach David Webb was very welcoming. I am in my 4th month now and it feels like i only started yesterday. David Webb looks after his students and shares his knowledge on all aspects, great at explaining techniques and reasons behind each move. I understand everything very well although i am not English. He is patient and doesn’t mind explaining a move 2-3 times if needed. His assistants are also great and very knowledgable.Toukon Academy is a great place in Bedford full of positive individuals eager to learn and always helpful. If you are thinking of joining, just do it you will not regret. See you on the mats!
