Uruku Beauty Salon

Really sad that Uruku wouldn't accept a £60 gift voucher that was expired by 9 days. My mum bought this for my husband for Christmas and, yes, there was a clear expiry date on it, but the voucher got buried beneath piles of documents on his desk. We have had an incredibly stressful six months with a tortuous building project and two close family members with serious illness. It is unsurprising that a few things have been overlooked.I have a voucher for The Beauty Room in Ashby and they give twelve months on their vouchers, which seems much more generous.The error was our own fault, but it seems like bad business to me to not offer even half of the value, as they have taken the money. So, Uruku have lost three existing customers now. Business must be great for them!

My treatment started 10 minutes late which I find unprofessional (they did apologise) and not a great first impression. The massage table and blanket was cold (should be warm - had a few massages so know how it should be), the oil was cold as well. Not great when it’s freezing outside. The massage was fine but the scalp bit was poor, my hairdresser actually gives much better head massages. Just felt like my scalp was being tickled and my hair moved around, there was no pressure. The toilet was dirty, the bathroom bin full as was the towel bin. Towels fraying at the seems. Wasn’t offered a hot drink before or after the treatment even though there was tea and coffee there for customers. The lady that gave my treatment was lovely though. Will not return. Maybe they were once good but standards have clearly massively slipped.

Today I went to get my eyebrows laminated at Uruku and I was not very pleased with the results.I have been to Uruku for many other treatments before so I trusted them however, my eyebrows were black bearing in mind my hair is blonde and they looked not natural and messy with no shape to them. They were definitely not what I would call a brow lamination and I don’t even think the girl who did the treatment was happy with her work. I found it painful and difficult to remove the dye when i went home as well.Honestly Uruku is a lovely place for treatments such as manicures or pedicures but I just don’t think the brow lamination treatment was sadly for me and I would recommend people have a think about it before having the treatment.

Today I booked in as normal for my nails but also booked a facial with Kendal, it was the best facial I have ever had and will be definitely be having another one, my skin feels wonderful!

My wife loves the place she goes in to have her nails done the salon is on main street where there are many other shops and bars and specsaver plus there is a market day on the road on Fridays and a small one on Tuesday it is all straight across the road from argos

Sarah threaded my brows today, they look great and she was so lovely! I only nipped in on my lunch break but felt very relaxed when I left. Thank you

I love coming here to get my nails done, the girls are lovely, so friendly and make you feel so relaxed. They are all so professional and offer great customer care. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for beauty treatments. I can’t recommend them enough.

A fab little salon in the heart of Ashby. Very friendly and kind staff. Always had a great experience. Prices are about right and the place is clean and warm and has a lovely atmosphere. Do try it if you haven't been before. I love it
