My daughter started this class at the beginning of the year, when she joined she was nervous and a little shy. However her confidence has soared since joining the class and she absolutely loves coming to her lessons. Mr Yankey and every other member of the team have been amazing with her, the price is worth the dedication and commitment the staff gives to every child who attend the class!

She finally started to enjoy herself.Mr yankee is really good at teaching the children not just martial arts but respect and discipline as well.Would definitely recommend to anyone.I think the price is fair as its pretty much priceless what she comes away with in my opinion.

I brought my son here 5 or 6 years ago. I eventually joined in with the classes. At 52 years old I’m now a black belt. I’ve never been fit or did any exercise before. We enjoy the classes and all newcomers are made to feel welcome. It has changed my life for the better. It’s like a big family.

My kids have been going for over a year now. They building their confidence, discipline. They love it.The team is so nice, always happy to help. Highly recommend.

Starting to train is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I'm fitter and stronger and look forward to training twice a week. The club is really friendly with no egos. Everyone wants to learn and help each other!

What a class! My kids have been going for a few months now and their confidence, their strength has come on so much. The dedication from the whole team is so nice to see together and can't thank them enough for the time they take out of their day to teach the kids. Very pleasant environment and you know you can always ask if anything is wrong. Prices and costs are worth it for the quality of kits etc and wouldnt want them to join anywhere else always recommend to friends, family, neighbours etc. Always a pleasure xxx

They should be open about the costs up-front. All they tell you about when you sign-up are the monthly subscription costs, not the costs for the uniform (£80 each), the costs for sparing equipment (all marked up by 100% and they won't let you buy from anywhere else for 'insurance reasons'), the costs for taking a belt (£20, £30 or £100 for the higher belts each few months).They also never go to tournaments. They are not a proper martial arts organisation, its more like an exercise class. When I did Ju-Jistu in about 1985 I was going to tournaments as a white belt. It's like Rex Quan Do out of Napoleon Dynamite. A money making schemeThe children like it though, and there are not many alternatives in the local area.

My oldest has been attending for nearly 2 years, followed by his 2 younger siblings a few months later then the boss (mother) joined and sadly I got roped in too, so now the whole house of 5 attends twice a week... as a whole we love and enjoy the classes and the people. Mr Y and his team don't just do generic classes they actually tailor them to each individuals capabilities but also tailor them to requests from students/members so that we get to try the whole spectrum regardless of belt colour. The class is constantly evolving and one thing you'll quickly pick up on is its a very friendly & family type of vibe where we all help and annoy each other to get us to the next level. I think you'd be hard pressed to find another club where you can enjoy the banter and playfulness without the ott strictness and seriousness of other clubs that tends to put people off. I can't commit to classes because of my shift pattern but I can just turn up on class days regardless of how far along the class is and jump right in. The club is called MY martial arts and that's because every member can honestly say it is MY club.

My daughter started coming to this club around 12 yrs ago. When she started she was a shy timid child. We watched as her confidence grew with every belt she earnt. I’m now a member of the club and can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I made. I’m not what you’d expect in a student, but I have never felt more welcome in a club. It feels like everyone wants the best for each other and will always help their fellow students. All the instructors are fab and are able to support you to achieve your best.
