All GP surgeries are under pressure these days, but Gale Farm surgery handles it well. Their online service allows you to explain in detail what you need, after which the triage system responds in good time. When I have had anything urgent, they have offered me an appointment very quickly. Other times, I have had to wait, but only for things that aren't urgent. Im happy to wait if it means that urgent problems are seen quickly for everyone. This week, I was very late ordering my regular prescriptions online. I attached a note saying I needed them in 3 days or I would run out (it usually takes a week or so). True to form, my prescription was sent to the pharmacy the next day for me to collect. I feel heard and responded to.The surgery also offered me a phone appointment with a cardiac consultant to ensure my medication was up to date. This is an example of proactive preventative care which I really appreciate.Recently I asked if I could have a bone density scan. I waited a couple of weeks for a phone call, but the answer was yes.The NHS is creaking at the seams, we all know that. What I want is a well organized professional GP service that is appropriately responsive to my needs, despite the circumstances nationally. Gale Farm, as part of the Haxby Group provides a service I can trust, and feel is meeting my health needs very well. Thanks to all the staff there.

You spend time filling in the online form (while you are in pain), just to get text message back telling you you'd have to wait for up to eight weeks to see a GP. Usually you end up waiting for that duration of time, hoping the pain won't make you insane. As another person commented, they are currently taking on new patients...I suspect they prioritise easy patients for quick turn around while more serious ones have to wait.

Writing this review on behalf of my 77 year old dad who went to see his GP here with a lump on his nose only to be told it was just a fatty lump and nothing to worry about.I made him go to my GP where I live in Australia. Sure enough it was cancer. My dad has just had to have his nose reconstructed all because his own gp here was so negligent. Disgusting service from this practice.

When I have been treated by the clinical staff they have all been great and made me feel at ease, the problem is trying to get an appointment! 3 days in a row I've been on hold for over an hour and no one has picked up the phone; it is physically impossible to speak to anyone on the phone and using the online system isn't much better. I requested an appointment for my 6 year old 4 weeks ago and still haven't been seen, after going in today to see why I hadn't heard anything they told me it could be another 3 weeks before she gets an appointment. It's really scary being unable to speak to anyone; especially struggling with mental health and needing things to feel simple.

Can't get in touch with the surgery, go into reception who tell you to go online and the online service is never open no matter what time of day I try!Always end up seeing a different doctor and having to start from the beginning of treatment over and over again... Having to re-explain myself due to lack of note taking. Multiple blood tests where they didn't test for what the doctor said. Always having to fight for my prescriptions which are repeat prescriptions but can't get them!

What a surgery this is. It’s an absolute joke.!Then they have the cheek to put a big sign outside taking more patients on. Look after the sick patients you have already. 8 weeks for an appointment JOKE!!! The surgery needs closing down & let another practice take over. Shame on you Gale farm surgery. Your service is dire.

Disrespectful staff. Had to sue one GP for negligence. Won’t proper assess my grandmother for COPD using the correct instrument and guessing what stage she’s at. Told her she’s not allowed to have prescriptions done over the phone anymore as she isn’t classed as vulnerable and is able to get out yet she cannot walk further than 100 yards unaided and told she’s stage 4 COPD but still expected to get to the surgery to pick up prescriptions. Absolute trash staff.

The receptionists and doctors could not be lovelier. The receptionists do their best to accommodate you, and get you an appointment as soon as they possibly can. You never know which doctor you will get, but every single doctor is friendly, thorough, and you never feel rushed/fobbed off if you have complicated symptoms. One of the things I am most grateful for in my life is being a patient at Gale Farm. I have total faith in them, and feel extremely well looked after.

Dreadful. My usual, supportive, doctors have both left. Have to wait at least 45 minutes on the phone, so forced to use an (adequate) online booking system. However, it then takes days to hear back, and only then by text. Been waiting since Christmas (4 months now) for a consultation regarding uncomfortable digestive symptoms, and had to self-diagnose and treat online, (rightly or wrongly.) Unless it’s life threatening, it seems you will only ever receive telephone contact. When I felt a lump in my throat, was asked to photograph it. Impossible! Never heard back when I stated this. My family and I do not feel adequately supported by this surgery at all, and it would seem that many other reviews agree. I hope they will listen to their patients, and start to improve things drastically.

The gp in general from going there in person has always been welcoming and respectful. However after COVID and the aftermath of it. The GP has gone downhill with appointments over the phone and apperantly I was told I would be waiting five working days for an appointment to be made available even though that's a problem due to working every nearly six five days a week barely time to drop everything and go and it's more bleak and difficult to get referred to a midwife by them now too ..Overall needs a slight improvement.
