Stena Line - Holyhead

Oh I have missed Stenaline! By far the best ferry company, their staff are 110%! Can never do enough for you, so friendly and just overall awesome! I was welcomed by Rob, great conversation and very welcoming

Straight forward with boarding. Premium lounge is peaceful with unlimited drinks, coffee,tea,cans, fresh orange juice. Lots of food to choose from. Hot food is payable but it is excellent. They out do restaurants on land.

Missed the train from Holyhead by 5min after arriving with the ferry and it's only departing once an hour. There should be coordination btw train and ferry services. Also it took 30mins to leave the ferry for pedestrians because they are the last ones to leave the ship after all vehicles - dissatisfied. There is basically no awareness within the Stena team that people are dependent on the comprehensive train services.

Happy with Stena Line, had consistently good experiences travelling with them on this route. Staff are amazing, helpful and cheerful, always with a smile. Beautiful facilities on the ship. Took a cabin for the first time this trip and were impressed how roomy and comfortable it was. Main pleasant surprise that it was air-conditioned, coming in from 30° heat outside. Had a wonderful, if short, sleep in the comfortable bunk, and wished the crossing was longer! Lovely duty-free shop. Restaurant gets very busy in summer crossings.

On Stena Estrid for a quick visit to Dublin.On arrival at the port, check-in and security checks are carried out efficiently, and as I was a foot passenger, I was transferred to the boat by bus. On the whole the port experience was good, with all of the staff being very approachable and friendly.

Had a pleasant journey to Dublin on the Stena Adventurer. The staff on-board were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The loading/disembarking process could have been a bit slicker but we got out without too much fuss. Make sure you check the dimensions of your vehicle - we booked extra high as we were taking bikes on a roof rack. Our return journey was on the Stena Estrid which was definitely the nicer and more modern of the two ships we travelled on.

Caught the 09:00 ferry to Dublin. The check in process was smooth and efficient. There's a little cafe before you check in, but very little after that. It doesn't matter too much, because very quickly we were escorted onto a shuttle bus that takes you to the ferry, a five minute drive away. The facilities on the ferry were first class. All of the public areas were spotless, warm, and comfortable. The restaurant is open immediately, even before you set sail, with a great selection of breakfast items and hot drinks. Watch out on the return trip, I got caught out. They stopped serving food at 16:15. It was my fault, I didn't hear the announcement. With a duty free one day trip, it cost me £12 to go to Dublin and back in a day. You can't beat that.

I have been humbled by how cheerful, friendly and helpful all the Stena line staff at this terminal were. The terminal is impressively clean, probably due to the cleaner who never stops and has the loveliest Welsh accent. Utterly impressed!
