Since the introduction of mostly closed barriers it hasn’t been possible to exit directly onto the bridge leaving the station making it annoying if you’re heading south in the city. In the evening you have to exit at the back through an extra car park which is a real pain on top of this. Platform one leaves the city so it’s easy to rush for a train as it’s always on that platform. Nothing spectacular as a station but serves its purpose.

It's more like a vintage style station with modern equipments. Usual ticket office and a shop in the premise, they have toilet facilities as well. Only thing missing is a departure and arrival board for the train in the ticket hall.

Although Portsmouth and Southsea is more central if your staying in Southsea Fratton station is best for trains outside the city. Commuters can catch a later train from here and it's the same walking time from Albert Road. The station has steps but I believe there are lifts so is disabled accessible. The morning staff here are very friendly and helpful. You could also save a few pence on your ticket if you leave from here. There's a cafe and toilets by the main entrance.

I have been to this station before, a untidy area but everything else is really nice,the services are : southern , SWR and GWR.There are 5 ticket machines and 3 ticket bays for an employee to do.The station also has a big depot where GWR and SWR park their trains at night or day.Beware though the cafe ‘pumpkin’ is highly expensive for its drinks and food.Overall fratton is decent

Got of the train the other night and this guy went to go fetch his bike to realise it was stolen after the lock was cut off, a taxi driver said that the station doesn’t care about it or do anything about it either, there’s a camera in there but I doubt it works. I recommend anyone with an expensive bike or whatever to not leave it at fratton otherwise it’s guaranteed to be stolen & the station will do absolutely nothing to help.

Great Layout very convenient if you need to go for a cigarette, however they have the worst designed shop possible.Why is there no self service machine? Or another cashier?I couldn’t buy refreshments because there’s one queue to pay for stuff, and the same queue to get coffee which takes forever to make so you will miss your train.Pissed me right off but it saved me getting scammed £5.49 on a meal deal so can’t complain too much.

A nice train station which has a shop, ticket office & machines, toilets and accessible access to all 3 platforms (plat. 2 & 3 via a lift).Served by Southern, GWR and the best railway operator: South Western Railway, and features a wide range of destinations, such as London (Waterloo and Victoria), Southampton Ctl, Salisbury and Cardiff & Brighton.Very close to Fratton Park and great bus connections to other Portsmouth destinations just outside the station.

I recently used this train station and was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The station was dirty and poorly maintained, with trash and debris on the floors. Additionally, the customer service was lacking. The staff was unhelpful and not willing to assist with any issues or concerns. I also faced issues with delays and cancellations of trains which made it difficult for me to reach my destination on time. I would not recommend this train station to anyone, and will be looking for alternative options in the future.
