Used this service daily for several weeks in May through October. Mostly great given the saving of time and effort. However for a company providing a service it would perhaps be prudent for the management to invest in etiquette training to one of their skippers to be polite and courteous. If the training doesn't work then maybe consider replacing.Otherwise a pleasant crossing in the afternoons.

Awful service. One of the grunts who works on the boat, dropped the card reader into the water right in front of us, and then called out cash only". No apologies for the inconvenience he had caused to a HUGE queue of people standing there with their bank cards.Made no exceptions for people who didnt have enough cash

Only £2.50 one way is such a bargain and what a way to bring yourself closer to nature than ever. Such a help to one's mental health as well.

This is a great little ferry. Makes a trip into Plymouth just that bit more interesting. Park Mount Batten side and take the ferry over to the Barbican. (Free car park available also). At time of writing fare was £2pp each way.

Love the fact the ferry is annual, can’t believe it’s £2.50 each way ( Torpoint car ferry only charges £2.60 one way from Cornwall side back to Plymouth). Why is it so expensive?

A simple, fast water taxi, twice every hour, or more in summer, taking a shortcut between Plymstock and the Barbican. If it wasn't so practical, it would be worth the short trip for the scenery and just for fun. People do go from the Barbican to the Mountbatten pub on the other side, and back.Check with the website for the summer/winter schedule, and the very few times that the service is off due to tides or (in winter) freak nasty weather.Currently £1.50 each way (cash or pre-purchased vouchers only) rising soon to £2.00.

Rude staff. Seriously need lessons in public relations or is this an inbuilt reaction to tourists ? Disgraceful attitude. Cannot answer questions till you are onboard. Cannot answer questions until you have paid. We walked off so no profit from our pockets. This employee needs a good talking to from his manager. Change you inflexible attitude and you can have our hard earned money. Stop taking tourists fir granted

Went to Mount Batten for a sea dip/swim and used the ferry for the first time on Sunday - really easy to find, only 5 minute journey, £2 for a single and beautiful view of Plymouth if it's a lovely sunny day like it was when I went!

The ferry goes from the Barbican every 30 mins from Plymouth (15 & 45 mins) and Mount Batten (0 & 30 mins). We paid the captain £2.50 each way on the boat. It only takes a few minutes to cross the Sound and once you get to Mount Batten there are some great views of Plymouth from the breakwater and the hill behind. Walk along the coast and have a beer at the pub next to where the ferry depart from.

Good service. Well done for being available all year. £2 single fair leaves you open to travel on bus elsewhere or return for the same fare
