The Great Barn

We really lucked out having Laura at the Great Barn as our wedding event manager. She is so attentive, informative and is generally a lovely person. It was so easy planning and going through the day with Laura as her wealth of experience enabled us to make our day even more special.The Great Barn is truly a hidden gem. Our guests enjoyed coming to a wedding venue which has so much character. The venue requires minimal decor as it is beautiful and the fairy lights inside add to the character of such a unique venue.We cannot recommend this venue enough - we had a blast working with Laura to create our dream wedding day. We chose to book The Great Barn for our wedding ceremony and reception and we can honestly say it was a magical experience.The venue itself is gorgeous and we had so many compliments from our guests on what a beautiful setting it was. Also, Laura from the Barn was absolutely amazing at helping coordinating our big day - from liaising with suppliers to managing everything on the day, our day went completely to plan and we owe this all to her and her team!If you’re looking for a venue to host a special event, we couldn’t recommend The Great Barn more.

The Great Barn is such an amazing venue. It looked absolutely stunning on the day and it was the perfect setting for our wedding reception. We recently had our wedding at The Great Barn and it is such an amazing venue and the perfect setting for our celebration. The building itself looks amazing inside and out, with plenty of space for 100+ guests.All of the staff who helped on the day were great but a particular shout out to Kat whose help and responsiveness in the build up to as well as on the day was invaluable. When we started our civil wedding & reception planning, we knew we wanted something different to our norm. We found a hidden gem in The Great Barn and fell in love with the green surroundings and the barn itself.A big bonus is that the venue comes with beautiful chiavari chairs, tables (trestle and round) and a private bridal room with a kitchenette and enough room to get ready in. We received so many compliments on the venue and the vibe it creates made our day extra special.Our coordinator was Laura on the day who was so approachable, flexible to our requests and very organised. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Laura and the team for really making our day feel seamless and perfect. Laura was so accommodating to our requests in the lead up and all the last min ones on the day too!We are so happy we picked The Great Barn - it was all we ever imagined and more.

My wife and I had our three-part wedding at The Great Barn this summer. After visiting it on a frozen January morning, we knew it would be able to take our 200 guests, require minimal internal decoration, would be well lit and temperate even during hot weather and the free inclusion of the choice of round and trestle tables, plus new limewash Chiavari chairs, wooden or white display easels and our chosen caterer being on the approved vendors list made it an easy choice. The grounds themselves are wonderful with the back garden area for guests, the hidden garden with flower beds blooming, the picturesque bridge, not to mention the meadow areas bordering it and the willow trees on the clay path between it and the cricket ground - we managed to have multiple, varied and distinct photoshoots in different areas with our photographers, all within a 5 minute walk from the main barn. The free parking in the council car park is useful although it is not exclusive to The Great Barn, it was easily enough, even with visitors to the local park and museum. While the museum is open, the security on the day were able to keep them away from the barn and after the museum closed the entirety of the venue was ours. There are a lot of fridges available and also ice machines (which fortunately were not needed by us) and the team now allow you to hire out a catering tent from them as the finishing kitchens are really just for heating and plating up, saving on hiring a marquee from a supplier which would be at least double the cost.Throughout the planning stages, Gabriela was our main contact and she worked tirelessly to answer our thousands of questions, helping us organise our day, ensure that the layouts would not be cramped, ensured that someone was available to accept on-the-day deliveries from vendors, and (along with Laura on the day) assisted with setting changes between ceremonies. I can’t recommend her enough.Ultimately, for the price it is a wonderful venue requiring little extra to make it feel grand and we have left with wonderful memories of our wedding day. I definitely recommend visiting it to see if it could be your wedding venue too.

When we were planning our wedding, we were specifically looking for a barn – somewhere with history, character and charm. We came across The Great Barn at Headstone Manor when searching for barn venues and the location was ideal making it very convenient for many of our family and friends. It is a stunning venue that ticked all our boxes. We had an intimate wedding in July 2022 with our Hindu ceremony followed by an evening reception. We hosted our reception welcome drinks outdoors and all our guests were able to enjoy the stunning grounds. If anyone is thinking of getting married here, we would highly recommend it. We had the most perfect day. Laura and the team were really responsive and went over and beyond to work with us throughout the planning. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the team for making our wedding day run so smoothly.

My husband and I had an amazing wedding day here and a great experience working with the barn to plan our special day. I would do it all over again with them. This venue is underrated, it is so beautiful and the team are incredible and accommodating and really go out of their way to help you. Thank you Gabriela and team you were all really fantastic to work with and I had no stress because you reassured and supported us in our planning. ThankYou for the open day as we found all our main vendors from this and all were excellent and reliable.

It's ok, if you don't want a venue that's just yours.The public are walking around at any and all times, even though there is meant to be a security man" at the entrance. After all

We had our wedding ceremony , wedding breakfast and reception at The Great barn at the start of September . The barn is such a perfect venue , beautiful inside with extensive areas outside for a marquee or just for children to play .The staff were superb , all very polite and friendly . Gabriela our venue coordinator was excellent , very good communication , always quick to answer and helpful suggestions in the build up to the day . On the day she and the rest of the staff were so well organised , changing layout from ceremony to reception without disturbing the flow .Special mention to Gemma , she was brilliant all night , especially with the children . We had taken some games and toys for the younger children to play with outside . Gemma set the games up and then went round to all the children at the end of the meal inviting them outside to play . She also took drinks out to them throughout the evening .We had a perfect day in a perfect venue , would not hesitate to recommend The Great Barn and the wonderful staff .
