Lovely market square, with a diverse range of shops

Great location to visit when they’ve got a local market on , still a great place even when not. Plenty of shops around the square … lots of history too.

Free parking from 6pm, no parking on Thursday’s (market day). Ideal spot to explore Ripon.The horn blowing happens every night at 9pm sharp and is followed by a lovely historical chat. Highly recommend making that a destination while you’re here. Such a neat history.

Ripon market on Thursday is excellent! Lots of independent traders selling bread and cakes; cheese, pies, olives and street food. There are specialist fish and vegetable stalls which sell high quality food.There are a number of clothing stalls selling country wear, ex-army clothes and boots. There is a stall selling material and two really good plant stalls. Look out for the specialist coffee/tea vendor. There is a large stall selling hardware; silk flowers and household goods. There is a stall selling hats and handbags and a stall selling towels, pillows and bedding. A great local market and a wonderful city!

Convenient car park if you want to shop in Ripon. A bit expensive if all you want to do is nip to the chip shop though. No free short stay like many other caf parks.

Only visited once on the jubilee market day. I was really impressed with the set up. The market sells good products including a lovely range of fresh fish at the fish mongers stall and a stall selling some very nice plants.It's a lovely market town and people are friendly. Well worth a visit.There's parking nearby in the supermarket. Don't forget to pay.

Accidentally visited today on St Wilfreds day. I should have known better having lived there for years. Still, it was fun to see the celebrations again!

Wow, what a place, I have fallen in love with this place, first visit yesterday. A medieval city with stunning buildings, a marvellous looking Cathedral & quirky little shops dotted around. Just under an hours drive from Peterlee, plenty parking spaces, plenty food places with your local shops too. Artisan Christmas Market was on with fabulous stalls & friendly sellers. Well worth a visit, will be calling back real soon..
