Place was very popular but lucky for our group we didn't have to wait long. Always a good sign to walk into a busy restaurant. Staff were lovely and welcoming and it's very decently priced. I'm not a big Spanish or seafood person so I just had a drink but my two friends both loved it. I would recomed going for a try. I'll speak for the vib of the place and my friends speak for the food itself :)

Beer ok, lovely point of Theaksons, great stew but the whole place wants a good clean. The tables and chairs very sticky, as though they haven't been cleaned in months. If they got the establishment as good as the products they sell, this would be worthy of 4 or 5 stars.

Really friendly staff, very tasty food and large selection of drinks. Kitsch decor. It was raining when we visited, but it has a good location by the river, thus would imagine its great on a sunny day.

Nice atmosphere inside and out. Lovely riverside setting. Good selection of beers but if you are driving, you must have something other than Diet Coke as they don’t serve it.

Stew & Oyster Calls Landing
Couldn’t get in anywhere on a bank holiday so thought we’d call the Stew & Oyster as the menu looked really promising. When we arrived we should have known it wouldn’t measure up as it was the only place which was empty. Throughout our stay only a few people arrived and departed.Menu - They explained they had no ‘wild rice’ and the ‘tagine’ wasn’t available either. With plenty of other options we agreed to stay, bought drinks and the 7 of us pondered the menu - 2 of us are vegans. All of the meals come with either steamed rice or corn bread. When we went to order we were told there was no rice at all. We reviewed what everyone wanted as Curry (and many others dishes) don’t pair with bread. On our second attempt we were told they had no vegan cream so the no-beef stroganoff was also off the menu. When we enquired about the ingredients they were clueless and handed us an ingredients book for each meal. With such a poor and limited choice we would have departed but we couldn’t get in anywhere. With no choice we placed our order and with only 2 vegan options we plumbed for curry with bread and Chyk’n bites for the vegans.Food - The meals arrived so quickly we were baffled at how it was possible to cook them that quick. Looking at all the bread it appeared that the vegan butter looked identical to the normal butter. When we enquired if it was vegan butter they said “no”! They also never had any vegan butter so it was a curry and dry bread. I can’t believe they made such a fundamental mistake. All of the meals looked pretty unimpressive (see images of some) and with meagre portion sizes I’d have expected them be polished off in minutes. Sadly only 1 person finished theirs with everyone agreeing it was bland and soggy.Vegan Massaman Tempeh Curry had no sweet potato in it! Normal potatoes and carrots which was watery and bland.Vegan Chyk’n bites were tiny and dry.Chicken cacciatore. Chicken was not favoured at all. Thrown together too quickly with no substance.Chorizo gnocchi was squidgy and bland.Beef in ale was watery and bland. We can’t help but deduce that the food being ‘one pots’ we’re just microwave meals. The bread was good though and that went down well, but it wasn’t enough to lift our overall disappointment. To add insult to injury, they still asked us to pay the full price! Shocking. We will not be returning and would not recommend as the staff were poor, the choices poor, the food was poor and the experience poor.Sorry

Fine beer and oysters. Chicken and chorizo stew lacked depth. The stock needs some work. Great staff and location. Well worth a visit.

Came in for a drink, we didn't book and to be fair to them they found us a table outside as weather was perfect. Unfortunately the tables are completely covered in bird poo. No attempt to clean them. Even poo all over the seats. There is a tree directly above which can't be helped. Needs a timber framed gazebo to shelter all the tables. View is amazing and this would solve the problem. Can't give anymore than 2star because of this. No menus either which make it challenging. Sorry
