Excellent customer serviceI bought a used Volvo Selekt car recently from Volvo Shrewsbury. The sales process went very smoothly- they sent me all the details plus video in advance- I test drove the car before completing the purchase and the handover process managed by George Scott went very smoothlySeveral weeks later now and very happy with the car! Thank you

I have used this dealer in its may forms for at least 35 years. I can say without hesitation that I have always received excellent service.

My latest experience at this Volvo garage, unfortunately, adds to a string of mixed experiences I've had with Volvo service centers. Recently, when a faulty module issue arose, the garage's first solution, after two hours of charging the battery and checking the alternator (checked prior at Halfords), was to suggest a £600 battery replacement, refusing to work on the car any further without agreement from myself. I had to push back, as my car's batteries were just replaced (and the fault existed before the batteries were changed). This led to a heated debate with senior management, during which I questioned why I wasn't informed earlier of such terms. They did, however, eventually drop this after speaking to the owner, but still charged for the time spent investigating the batteries.Once the garage eventually informed me of the diagnosis—a module issue (not wiring or connectors, which most warranties don’t cover)—the situation became more complicated when I updated my warranty company. They pointed out that the repair costs seemed too high and ended up covering less than half of the bill.Getting a callback from the garage was a challenge, which only added to my frustration. Calling through to sales seems to be the best option. This isn't my first time having issues at Volvo garages. I've had problems like bumpers not attached correctly, air in the brake lines (yes), and even scratches on a previous car. The worst was when I had to sell my V40 after it kept having electrical issues (pedestrian protection system), despite five visits, and Volvo's inability to fix it under their own standard warranty, then into their extended warranty (hence I went with a third party this time around). You can understand my frustration when I bring in a four-year-old S60 for an electrical issue again. After the first visit to this garage, they failed to fix the issue. Having had past issues, I decided to investigate the issue myself. Yes, I’m a ‘DIY mechanic,’ but as a controls engineer (electrical, electronic, and programmer), a quick investigation with an OBD2 and a multimeter led me to find a voltage drop. When I reported my findings, I was told, 'We can’t take every customer's findings; we have to do it ourselves' (at £180 an hour). These repeated issues, including my latest experience, highlight a worrying trend in the quality and consistency of customer service and technical skills across Volvo's service network. And it's not just the service; the lack of professionalism from the senior management at this garage was quite apparent and disappointing. However, I am very grateful that the car is fixed. The mechanic did try everything to put things right, including ensuring the fault had been completely resolved before handing it back the second time. The above comments and rating are not aimed at him. I'm just a frustrated Volvo customer with a four-year-old car with a part that should have never failed.

Dealt with Ben Simmons who arranged for my trusted XC70 to be checked and sorted prior to emigrating to France . Whether dealing with Ben , the technician Liam , the gent who collected my car , the gent who returned my car in fact every point of contact in the service department the experience was nothing short of professional , caring and courteous . They managed to fit the car in despite very short notice and timescales , now looking forward to another 100k miles of Volvo driving. Thank you all

Generally a good experience which comes down to some excellent staff members. Dealer is easy to find with customer parking. One of the better dealerships I have used.

Impeccable service, highly recommended. What can I say about Volvo? Had a critical 12v battery lamp come on? Within 2 hours they had seen me, diagnosed the fault, and applied fix and software update. Thank you

Incompetent imbecile, parts department especially James, couldn’t run a bath never mind supply the correct parts backed up with unprofessional approach to correct their errors.. charge, for parts not required then ignore all attempts to refund.Typical dealer lazy contempt for mug punters.. I’m due for a trade in for a new car, but it will not be another trusty Volvo, purely down to this branches constant attitude to the very customers who keep them open. Muppets
