I visited on a weekend. We were seated quite quickly as it was early evening. We were a family of four and a 3 year old.We decided on getting a bunch of starters- lamb chops, chicken tikka, malai boti, sheesh kebabs and poppadoms and fries (we wanted this all together)For mains we went for roti, naan, lamb karahi and biryani of the day which was chicken biryani. We went for strawberry mocktail and blue lagoon mocktail. With food and drink I cannot fault a single thing it was all very delicious. Just the chicken in the biryani I felt to be alittle dry.In terms of service staff were super friendly and attentive given how busy it was. Just was disappointed to see only two glasses on the table for tap water- and had to ask for two more. Also we wanted fries with our starters but we had to ask and ended up having it with mains. Also when we finished and I was taking final sips of my mocktail we were asked if would get up by what seemed the manager because they had feel waiting - which I totally understand but I feel a couple of minutes would be nice and also I would suggest showing other customers waiting the menu so they can decide before seating (will make it more time effective). I don't like to be rushed out of a restaurant, especially when you've spent a fair amount.Saying that the price was very reasonable- £105 for us all. Also I made a video of most of the food hence not many picturesAlso didn't feel very comfortable with the shared toilet space with men and women. Even though there was a men and women toilet separate (cubicles next to each other) the sinks were the same- this is for upstairs sitting.

** avoid at all cost. Waste of money and time. Dont go to it if you value your time and stomach **Atmosphere perfect for the gram. Desi food place trying to mix cuisines and messed it up.Poor service waiting staff barely talk english. Poor management and dont pay attention.Food was aweful and ruined all expectations.Steaks over cooked more like a curry stuck in teeth. The mushroom sauce thick like paste instead of runny.Lamb chops overdone loosing all flavour and rubbery.A simple smashed burger raw inside, uncooked and pink. Looked more like a kebab done wrong. Not even smash to start with.May have food poisning from the burger.Waiter messed up simple order for loaded chips and brings it back after 20mins when not need.Very dissappointed

The restaurant is situated near the corner of Ladypool road, with a car park opposite and more spaces round the back. The front is modern and well lit and the decor inside is modern and very appealing. The furniture in the seating area is of high quality and cutlery is also of good standard. The staff were very accommodating for one of our guests who was in a wheelchair and helped to set up the table to accommodate his needs. To be honest the first time I visited my expectations in terms of the food quality and flavours was not too high. I've been to many restaurants in Birmingham and very few were a pleasant experience. So I kept my expectations low so as not to become disappointed. To my surprise every dish we ordered came out fresh, flavoursome and superb quality. We tried the lamb chops, malai boti, reshmi kebab and samosa chaat as starters. Each one was exceptional in texture and flavour. We then ordered Gawal mandi chicken karahi, egg fried rice, Lamb karahi on the bone, roghni naan, tandoori naan and rotis. All the food was served hot and freshly cooked. Nothing tasted funny or pre cooked.I have now been back to this place 5 times and on each occasion the food has been exceptional. Brother Mustafa and Noman are excellent hosts, always polite and courteous.Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to taste authentic food and flavours. Your never gona get perfection in local restaurants but these guys are excellent in most departments.Thank you guys for a pleasant and memorable dining experience each time. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

It was our first time here. The restaurant is cosy with modern decor. The service was quick, and the staff were friendly. The Barbecue starters were cooked to a great taste. We ordered a stake for the kids who liked it. The chicken pasta was a little spicy for our daughter. Nihari and Haleem were excellent. The roti was disappointing, dry, and hard. better stick with naans.Overall, it was a good experience dining here. We were informed that they have dedicated parking at the rear. Please beware that there was a queue waiting for a table at busy times.

I read the reviews about the bad service and still went, as this place is fairly new. Honestly, I wouldn't go here again. I had the Top Sirloin -£16.95. It was overcooked, not one waiter came to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else, food took a while to come out. Its a shame that the service is lacking because the restaurant itself is beautiful and modern from the inside. Cutlery and plates were also dirty.

Alamgir, situated on Ladypool Road in Birmingham, offers a visually appealing ambiance with modern decor, featuring interesting wall and ceiling features complemented by neon lighting. The cleanliness of the restroom, though acceptable, could be improved for a more favorable impression.During our visit, the establishment experienced significant patronage, resulting in a bustling environment across its 2 floors. Fortunately, we secured seating promptly, but it was observed that larger groups faced extended wait times, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes. The table presentation was commendable, with hot plates and neatly arranged cutlery. However, the culinary experience proved inconsistent. While my companion enjoyed a delightful 1kg chicken karahi, my own dish was marred by excessive saltiness and insufficient portion size, leaving me unsatisfied.Service was efficient, with drinks promptly served and a commendable variety available. The highlight was the freshly baked, delectable bread. Unfortunately, the dessert experience was overshadowed by a significant lapse in hygiene. The discovery of a long hair in the rasmalai, coupled with the restaurant's handling of the situation—charging without apology, merely replacing the plate—left a disconcerting impression.Despite the mixed dining experience, the steep price point, totaling £59.00 for two main courses, two drinks, and one dessert, was unexpected. Consequently, Alamgir earns a modest 3 out of 5 stars, with deductions for the hygiene lapse and portion size. While I won't revisit, I cautiously recommend it to those with a preference for Indian cuisine, urging caution against venturing beyond their culinary expertise.

We ordered chicken butter handi, mixed grill, keema nan, chicken biryani, and rogni nans.Overall food was nice as you expected, staff was helpful... especially their manager. It was quite busy during weekdays. People were queuing for at least 30 minutes or so. There was a small car park on the road.
