I have been seeing Janet for almost 7 years after having both hip and knee joints replaced followed by being knocked down and breaking an ankle. I saw many physiotherapists mainly NHS but also private but Janet was the only one who ensured that I learnt to do the exercises in the most effective way. She has given me great emotional as well as practical support, as she is a good listener as well as a good physiotherapist. I have found her approach to be very creative as she made each session feel well worthwhile.

Janet was extremely knowledgeable, thorough and compassionate in helping me with a back issue. Would highly recommend.

I have been attending Physiotherapy sessions with Janet for over 5 years following a spinal injection for stenosis of the lower back. Janet’s expertise and patience has virtually eliminated the pain, well beyond that achieved by the injection (which was very successful in its own right), and maintained the flexibility of my back … I can even continue to play cricket with no back discomfort! An important and helpful part of Janet’s therapy revolves around the psychology & physiology of pain and how to manage it. Having a positive mindset about pain – what it is, what causes it, how the brain interprets the pain signals – really helps in your understanding of what pain is telling you about your body. In turn, this gives you the confidence to work through any pain, knowing what has likely caused it and how then to reduce it, be that with exercises and/or over-the-counter pain-killers/NSAIDs.Although my back pain is now at a very low level, I have decided to continue to have regular sessions with Janet, usually about every 6 – 8 weeks. My reason is mainly to make sure that I keep myself to my exercise routine but also to develop new routines, as well as having an expert keeping an eye on my back. She also advises me on what to do with other ailments, often cricket or DIY related, or just plain getting older. Again, the appropriate exercise routing almost always eliminates the problem.
