I chose Brightman Clarke for my single story extension following recommendations from friends. Johnathan was very approachable friendly and helpful, he spent time with me discussing various options and was very sensitive to my ideas. He was very helpful especially in respect to making me aware of the third party wall act.He dealt with the planning permission and make understanding the whole process easy.The finished job is excellent and I come down each day with a smile on my face.I would have no hesitation in recommending Brightman Clarke Architects

Brightman Clarke Architects were recommended to me by a friend to work on a new build development.Jonathan was able to offer an exciting design solution that exceeded my expectations of what would be possible on a restricted site.As a first time developer, the professionalism and guidance offered throughout has been invaluable in successfully progressing the project.I can't speak highly enough of my experience working with Jonathan and the Brightman Clarke Architects team.

We choose Brightman Clarke to extend our traditional semi. From the very beginning we were very comfortable with Jonathan. He spent a considerable amount of time listening to our needs and wishes. We felt fully involved and were really pleased with his input and suggestions. In the end he came up with three possible proposals for us to mull over before we finally settled on a plan that we felt fully met our need. Jonathan was very patient and answered any queries we had quickly. He guided us smoothly through the planning process. The fee structure is very well put together allowing for a number of options, including full tendering should you need it. We felt they gave us very good value for money. We chose Brightman Clarke after meeting with Chris Brightman about our replacement ground floor extension within a conservation area. They were the most interested in our ideas and wishes of all the architects we saw, but also came up with solutions we would not have thought of, including the moving of a doorway which I couldn't really see the point of but now, in the finished building, makes all the difference! We had to take into account wheelchair accessibility including a fully accessible bathroom in a tight space. Chris made all the running with this and liaised with a specialist bathroom company we ended up using, and everyone is amazed that it is a disabled bathroom as it doesn't look like one at all. We engaged BC to project manage as it was a large project and we did not regret this, it made us feel secure that this oversight was there keeping the project on track. A number of unexpected findings (including a well in the yard) did not phase Chris, and when some stud walls in the scheme turned out not to work within the finished space, Chris met with us and the builders and the kitchen company and we took them out, so flexible and responsive. No hesitation in recommending them and in fact we have done so several times already.

We are very happy with the service we received from Brightman Clarke.We initially briefed Jonathan to design a rear extension and internal layout changes to our home. He came back with lots of great ideas, one of which was to add the extension to the side rather than the rear, meaning we didn't eat into our garden space. A design which we ended up progressing with and something we wouldn't have thought about ourselves.He was also very knowledgeable in working within the permitted development limitations and maximised our options with regards to sizing and external finishes.Jonathan is also very accommodating if you want to tweak the designs and is always available for advice. We decided we wanted to build a substantial extension to the rear of our property but we had no experience of architects. I checked the internet for local companies. We decided to ask Brightman and Clarke for an initial consultation as their website showed each step in the process in detail (from initial consultation through to full tendering along with the fee structure).Jonathan came to see us for the initial consultation where we gave him our requirements which he understood straightaway and immediately started making suggestions. We had no hesitation from this point in engaging Brightman and Clarke for the project and this the best decision we could have made.Jonathan produced initial drawings where he advised against some of our ideas but embraced others and incorporated these into the highly comprehensive final drawings. The planning process was implemented by Jonathan. He further advised on what to look for in builders and named some builders he had worked with previously. He also indicated what he thought the cost of the project would be and he wasn't very far out. He consulted with our builders when required. We are so pleased with the completed extension which in no small part is due to the efficient, professional and friendly approach adopted by Jonathan.Highly recommended.

We chose Brightman Clarke to help design a renovation and extension. We worked with Jonathan throughout and he has been brilliant. Not just a great architect, but also a lovely guy. We already had some ideas and were working with a designer, Brightman Clarke was one of the architects she recommended. They worked seamlessly together to deliver what we wanted, which was great as they could speak a language to each other about the project that we didn't understand and probably avoided a lot of miscommunication! We started the planning before Covid, after Covid, Jonathan and Rachel worked with us to make a number of adaptations to the original plan. We've been really please with everything they have done for us. Jonathan was professional throughout but also added a personal touch by following up to see how we were getting on with some issues we were having around the build (not related to anyone who was working with us).
