Small and gorgeous. Stunning stained glass windows and interesting Jesus on crucifix. Whilst there a talented young man played the organ which was wonderful.

Christopher Wren will be well impressed with the church having undergone 4 months stone restoration to the four finials and pot du fur (pot of fire) and the stone gallery balustrades to the clock tower.

Slim pinnacle that is dwarfed by its bigger neighbour St Paul's but the church is recorded in song, by every living Cockney, who is so called because they were born within the sound of it's bell. Such a lovely song.

The Church of Bow bells.A beautiful church. One of Wrenn's post Great Fire of London restorations.A complete history is on the website. The church is a place of peace and quiet in a busy day.Opening times are on the website.Of note is the Norwegian chapel which records the endurance of the Scandinavian countries during the war and the Bow Bells signal played by the BBC world service during the war

Grade I Listed, Baroque church attributed to Wren.Historically associated in fact and fable with the regulatory pealing of bells serving as timekeeper to working London. The rebuilt interior is not especially memorable with a cafe in the ancient crypt and an exterior surrounded by inconsequential buildings that hardly enhance the precinct. Associations with Australia commemorated here the reason being;“....I do not know says the great bell of Bow.”

This is the world famous church of St.Mary-le-Bow, known around the world as Bow Bells and the centre of the universe for all TRUE Londoners; who were born within the sound of said bells and hold the right to be called a 'Cockney'. My late father lived in the now, long gone Evelyn Street, Stepney and was born in the local hospital in 1925.Unfortunately, modern government would love to erase all historical connections and force their own diversity agenda onto the British public...but the daily sound of The Bow Bells, stand testimony to a stronger and longer lasting philosophy. In the children's nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons, one verse contains reference to both Stepney andSt.Mary-le-Bow.And when will that be?Say the bells of StepneyI do not knowSay the great bells of Bow.You should try to visit this uniquely and historically important church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, whilst you can. Highly recommended.

One of the many churches that were destroyed during the Great Fire of London. This is another of the restored churches designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Much of the architecture showcase Wrens signature designs and features. The main thing that's obviously not are the stained glass, which along with much of the church were destroyed (again) during World War Two. The stained glass have a much more modern, fantastic design. Worth a small detour if in the area.
