Shawarma Star - Charcoal Grill
On a trip to Glasgow city centre, Shawarma Star charcoal grill popped up on Google. We were initially skeptical of the high google reviews (at the time of writing it had nearly couple hundred 5 Star ratings). We decided to give it a chance anyway. The place is barebones, with a rickety chair or two, we waited for our order with abated breath, and the this beautiful food came.It was excellent food. The grilled chicken was perfectly BBQed. Soft and juicy on the inside, provided with a very nice humus and Middle Eastern oil. The mixed shawarma was delicious, lightly browned and crispy wrap with soft and tasty meat inside. The chips were done right, not too oily or soggy, retaining their flavour. I think they did something to the Mayonnaise also, as it was light and nice flavour.Overall, if you don’t mind the sparse settings, the food quality, the friendly staff, deserve their high ratings. I have found a great place to eat in Glasgow city and I know I will be going back.

At my first bite, I was surprised as the wrap was crispy and so well baked. I can't help but just keep biting my wrap. Though I'm not that hungry, i finished my whole wrap just in 3 minutes. It worth 5 stars, no bubbles no exaggerations. Thanks google help me find this place.I ordered mixed wrap and was wonderful. I'm sure that all the other menus are perfect too

Had noticed this place when it was still having work done prior to opening, didn’t get a chance to try out the food until last night.Customer service was second to none.Got the mixed shawarma box with mundi rice accompanied by garlic sauce.Very generous portion.Overall Very nice food chicken was tender, lamb was lovely, rice nice and fluffy…Massive fan of another shawarma place, so was cautious about trying a new place but so glad to find that the food and customer service is up to par…

Being a massive Shawarma fan and seeing this pop up with almost flawless Google reviews. My curiosity was piqued. Sceptical of some jiggery pokery I popped in on a otherwise uneventful evening to give it a try.It’s pretty basic inside. A counter. A grill and some fairly generic seating. But the food was great. Fresh light bread. The chicken juicy and flavourful. Tahini sauce adding some bite. A little container of chilli sauce really elevated it and at £5.50 it was good value served politely and efficiently.Not a jig or a poke in sight!

I decided to try shawarma for very first time and couldn’t have picked a better place to go.The service alone was exceptional and welcoming, even without trying the food I knew it was going to be amazing plus their baklava was delicious (a nice light flaky treat after my lamb shawarma wrap). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and had an inviting environment.If you’re looking for somewhere to try shawarma for the very first time or even a place with friendly atmosphere this place is definitely worth a visit.

I found myself in Glasgow and saw all of the five star reviews and had to see if the shawarma was that good. Simple answer is yes.I have had shawarma or doner in a few dozen countries and this might very well be the best. The lamb was charred, flavorful and a little fatty in other words perfect. The naan/pita is freshly cooked which makes all the difference in the world. The tabbouleh was amazing and has pomegranate seeds in it which makes it slightly sweet.Lunch was even better than expected!

Shawarma Star - Charcoal Grill
I had the chargrilled chicken wings. They take a little longer but they are excellent. The meat was juicy, tender and well seasoned. Chips crispy, hot and well-salted. The hummus and garlic sauce were amazing too. Staff are friendly. Worth a visit!
