The Apple House

The Apple House is very nice only a short walk to many areas of interest. The offer a hot breakfast, either traditional English or vegetarian. Their breakfast bar included with the breakfast is amazing. Parking is included and because our room was not setup for laundry, the proprietors handled our laundry for us. It is a 10 minute level walk to the York Train Station. Excellent choice for visiting York, UK.

The hotel was clean, and management was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was above and beyond, and they did a special omelet for my husband, which he truly enjoyed. Would recommend it to anyone, and I will definitely be going back again.

Really lovely place to stay. A short work to the city centre. Rooms were a good size, clean, and well ventilated, with fans available as it was sooooo hot outside.Breakfast was great, such a wide spread of all the bits and pieces.Would definitely recommend staying here

Very nice and helpful owners who engendred a genuinely-caring attitude and homely atmosphere. Excellent breakfasts. Children enjoyed their special 'annexe' in the Empire Room, whilst Mum and Dad appreciated the convenience of the car parking, the cozy feel of the room plus LED bathroom mirror!

Our second time at the Apple House and we'll definitely be back. Danielle is so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need, plus little treats to make you feel welcome. Great range of food for breakfast including fresh fruit which is lovely. Amazing to have free parking and a 25 min walk or quick bus ride into the centre. A lovely little BnB.

Stayed for 1 night for a works event.What a lovely, clean and welcoming hotel.Located a 5 min walk from Yorks centre and rail station, this charming hotel is more than you could ever need.The room I had was a double, it was a good size, clean and the bed was very soft and comfortable. The room was en-suite and both the room and shower were very toasty.There were plenty of teas, coffees and even hot chocolate in the room with more availability if needed. There were also complementary waters, biscuits and chocolate too.Building was very quiet, slept soundly. I awoke to the smell of breakfast, which the options were plenty. The cooked breakfast looked very hearty, all freshly cooked not just left under a hot plate.Options of cereals and yogurts, fresh fruit and roasts are also available.I would happily stay here again and would recommend over the chain hotels near by.Another plus is free parking, which all the big chains charge extra for.

Mix views on the B&B location great for the town about a 30min walk, we did it every day but it is uphill on the way back. Good parking, lovely owners and overall clean and tidy but lacks in places. Stairs are steep and two sets per floor, breakfast was lovely with loads of choices and owners who do whatever possible to get you what you want. On the down side the main east coast rail lines runs at the end of the property and it's very busy, even at night there are huge freight trains that woke me at 4.20am every morning. Maybe ok in the colder days when the windows are closed. The shower was so small with a huge mixer tap making it even smaller, I burnt my hip on the hot side.. needs ripping out and a modern one fitted ..far too small with the huge mixer but plenty of very hot water. I personally hate seeing paint around the door handles, it only takes a couple of mins to remove the handle covers or mask them up... Just looks like poor finishing. Breakfast was great but the plastic woven table runners were not, they made your plates rock like a wobbly table but worse ...although they are cleaned daily they don't clean deep and they are sticky and need a deep clean in a dishwasher or better still chuck them away and use rubber mats which are easy to clean. Shame as the breakfast was good. This is not a 5 star or pretending to be but a good value B&B I just feel it could be even better with some extra work. Just a little point I think the ground floor rooms are used for dog owners so if you have allergies I would not use. First floor most likely the best compromise with just two flights of stairs. Would I stay again..maybe the owners do make an effort to make your stay enjoyable

Comfortable rooms. True, they are not modern and state-of-the-art but they are bright and very clean.The service from the owners (Daniele and Tarquin) is both personal and professional. We were looked after really well.The location is right outside the Roman walls on a quiet street. There is ample parking on the property. Plenty of affordable restaurants near by and walking distance to the centre and all the attractions.A lovely way to experience York

Hosts were excellent, so helpful. The breakfast was great, good portions and tasty too. The shortcut to the train station is difficult to find at first but made travelling quite easy. It's close to the bus stop and next to some great restaurants.

Great little B&B. We were up right at the top and the room space was well utilised. Low ceilings weren't too bad even for a 6ft 2 husband. Lovely breakfast
