Just spent 7 days on the Larkspur. Our first time on a canal boat. The initial brief on the workings of the boat and the 2 hours Angus spent with us showing us how to operate both, the boat and locks, was second to none. Fantastic trip, fantastic boat I would highly recommend Bloomsbury Canal Boats. Thank you for making this trip such a great trip.

Just returned from a wonderful week aboard on the Kennet and Avon canal. Angus was a great help in the beginning with this being our first ever trip. The boat is a credit to him, lovely furnishings, comfy beds, great kitchen and bathroom. The comprehensive instructions supplied take the stress away from the experience, loads of hot water and 240v systems to charge those gadgets.The canal was busier than we expected but the sights and wildlife more than made up for it, every pub and cafe we stopped at was excellent.

We were new to renting boats for a mini-break, so were a bit anxious. When we met Angus (Bloomsbury Boats), he warmly welcomed us - Instant feeling that we were in safe hands. We had a thorough 1 hour induction / training on how to use the boat, and all the other features, the rules of the water, etc.By the time it was time to set off, my mood had changed! We all had such a fabulous time! Steering a boat is very relaxing - If you have children I really urge you to try this as it is so peaceful and different. We had the log burner on at night when moored, and all had the best night’s sleep. Will definitely come back again in fact the girls have been demanding we book up the boat again. The surrounding countryside really is breathtaking.

Boat amazing, clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a 5* boating holiday. Angus was very welcoming and explained all the functions of the boat thoroughly. The boat handles beautifully. We had a great holiday helped by the fantastic weather..

We have recently had a week on the Kennet and Avon canal with Bloomsbury boats. Larkspur is a really lovely boat. We had several unsolicited compliments about how beautiful “our” boat was.She is very well kitted out and was very clean ready for our arrival. Angus was generous with his time and very patient during his tuition about the boat and how to drive her safely.We were extremely lucky with gorgeous weather for our week but fortunately it was cool enough at night to be able to light the wood fire. The cosiness of the boat and the facilities on board made it a much more attractive option to stay on the boat each evening rather that going out to eat.The communication from Angus was brilliant from our initial contact right through until we handed the boat back to him.5 stars across the board. We didn't want the holiday to end" - August 2021We originally booked for our family of 5 to enjoy a slower pace of life for a week aboard Larkspur during Easter 2020 - Covid came along and had other ideas!The holiday was postponed to Easter 2021 but that also had to be re-arranged. Angus remained in touch with us and this summer

Just wow! It’s hard to put into words how wonderful our experience was on the beautiful Larkspur! Angus was amazing showing us (complete novices) how to manage the boat, locks and swing bridges. Larkspur is a magnificent boat and the interior decor and furnishings were of very high quality. We cannot wait to book with Bloomsbury Boats again. If this is something you have thought about doing don’t hesitate as it was one of the best experiences of our lives!

Had a wonderful week on the boat, it is as good as the reviews say it is!! Angus was the perfect host, we could not ask for more. As first time boaters Angus took us through the details of the boat, so that we could thoroughly enjoy the trip up the canal. Highly recommended, thank you Angus.

The wide beam narrow boat was excellent. With lots of extra's on board. A proper home for the week. We have a son with walking difficulties. No problems with moving about. No problems getting in and out of the boat. And Angus soon gave us the confidence to trust ourselves with handling the boat. Bradford was a dream. A perfect week.
