The gift shop was open we had traveled all the way from Durham and we got there at 4pm, but they must have been eager to close up early. The man could have let my family have a very quick look around the free museum but he was abrupt. not a welcoming way to treat visitors. ☹️

Interesting and a nice way to spend an hour or 2. Things for the kids to do too. We really enjoyed visiting here.

Free entry for the hartlepool museum the navy part costs money. OK for walk round looking back at the old times, kids enjoyed and in laws who are from hartlepool

What a sad reflection on our museum services. As a local I remember our museum to be a wonderful place with fantastic exhibits, (that’s when it was near the old mail office) but this is a mess.It’s many years since I visited this museum and all that has happened is it has got dustier with no additional items, in fact quite a lot have been removed.It’s a good job it’s free!!

You don't have to go into the Royal Navy's part of the museum where there is an entry charge. Go to the desk to get free admission to the Hartlepool Museum part. Quite interesting retelling the history of the town and it's industries.

Small museum with some decent items on display. Very poor lighting in many areas and broken exhibits. No one wore any face coverings despite numerous signs asking them to. Girl on the till really looked like she didn't want to be there.

We stumbled across this place and hesitated due to the £10 entry fee as we only wanted to see the ship, however, we are glad we did go in as there is so much to see and do, you can even get on the ship and explore all the different levels. The courtyard is full of interesting interactive displays, with a cafe on site. We particularly enjoyed the amunitions live display too ...makes you think about how awful the conditions must have been back then
