We heard they were under new management again and were taking bookings for opening on Sunday 17th September 2023. We decided to give it a try. It was a 100% improvement on the last lot that had it. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. I had the salmon to start, it was lovely and the wasabi mayo was so delicate it did not overpower at all which I thought it might. My partner had the Nduja mac and cheese, it came as croquettes and was also delicious, she wished she could have had it as a main. We then had the slow cooked crispy pork belly and beef Wellington. Both were cooked to perfection and came with a massive yorky, stuffing, seasonal veg and roast potatoes, all cooked fresh and the gravy was delicious. Then came dessert. We decided to share a sticky toffee pudding and not being sure what it was, ordered the extra Amarula bomb. It's alway disappointing to order a sticky toffee pudding and it not be authentic (it should be made with dates ... always), not the case here! Sticky toffee pudding amazing, and then you add the Amarula bomb (note it is alcoholic) and it took it to a whole new level! Loved it, loved it, loved it! Hopefully these guys will stay, we will definitely be coming back.

Had a fantastic meal here last night. Having recently changed hands and reopening we wanted to test it out again. It didn't disappoint. The food was excellent, staff were really attentive and the atmosphere was the best I've seen it in a long time. I would highly recommend visiting The Kings Head you won't regret it.

The Kings Head
Very noisy, could hardly hear one another talk. Decor could use some work, all the fuse boxes are clumped together on the wall for all to see and it's a bit drab on the paintwork, especially in the WCs.Food portions were very skimpy and lacking. None of our steaks were cooked right. The well done steak was just cremated black on the outside and still pink in the middle. The rest of the steaks were either under or over cooked.Coke was too watered down.Red wine was too cold, not room temp.Desserts were pathetically tiny.I wouldn't eat here again, I left hungry and disappointed.

Really great to see the pub busy again. Food and service were both spot on. Just what you want from a pub meal.

Fantastic night out the food was exceptional the best I’ve had in a long while, the hosts are attentive and cheerful, they have only had the pub 3 months and it’s thriving and they have done so much work to improve it, well worth a visit

Back to the King's Head after a long lockdown. So Glad it has reopened for food again. Slightly reduced menu, but the old favourites were there. We had the Belly Pork and Rump Steak - both were cooked to perfection and with the usual accompaniments. Puddings were the Sherry Trifle and Bakewell Tart and custard. Service with a smile (I'm sure under the masks somewhere)
