New Cross Hospital Emergency Department

Excellent service to both paramedics, doctors and nurses. Admitted via ambulance and then hospital staff took over. Kept checking on me every half hour. All sorted and back home in 8 hours.

I would give -5 if could. Poor patient care. After 11.5 hours still not fully treated. Staff rude due over worked . I sat there all those hours and nobody bothered to ask if i wanted some water.

Clean and tidy. I know at times it's crazy busy but been as the local hospitals have merged and no longer offer an a&e it's to be expected. Also there are times of the day where it's a lot quieter than others.

The emergency department is very busy but the doctors, nurses, and other staff have been working tirelessly to attend to their patients.The last time I took my daughter there, she was attended to nicely. Even though we waited a bit before we saw doctor(s); I didn’t really mind because I saw that the staff were on their feet trying to attend to their patients.I really commend them for the good work they are doing.My daughter is very fine now.

This Indian nurse was not helpful. Rude and very arrogant and leaving stupid comments behind. For example when I was in pain and discomfort my mum was waiting for me in the same day emergence care room outside.She said that’s why we need the doors locked. Why do you need the doors locked ? Nothing wrong if someone comes with you.Also nothing wrong if I came in a and e again. No need to leave a comment for it. Some people got no respect working in a and e.

Where do i start? Reception staff are extremely rude and look at you like they'd rather not be speaking to you. No care or consideration for anybody. I waited hours to be seen by someone regarding severe pain in my left knee. I was eventually called in by a nurse who did nothing to help. She didn't assess me, didn't look at it, didn't examine it, nothing. Asked me if I'd fallen to which I said no, then told me she didn't know what was causing the problem and sent me home, refused to let me see a doctor. Severely dissatisfied and disappointed with the lack of treatment I received. Waiting for almost 6 hours to be told to go home after less than 2 minutes of being seen is disgusting.

Very helpful staff . Always on hand to administer health care

Been there a few times ,waiting time is unbelievable, I can understand they don't have enough staff but they don't seem to bother calling people in ,the time in-between people are called in is way too long and they don't do any investigations ,my daughter had a water infection gave her antibiotics and we had to come back as she was keep throwing up everything and waited another 6 hours ,I do not understand why they are still calling emergency department should be called waiting department.

9 hour wait for head injury this NHS trust is the worst tryst. No amount of money or staff will fix this department. If my son has anything happen I will sue big time. Avoid SDEC and A&E at all cost. Please try another hospital as this is worst I've ever seen.

My partner is currently in New Cross with suspected DVT waiting for over 5 hours now in a hot and stuffy hospital with no air con. She is partially deaf but I’ve been told I can’t stay with her whilst she waits to be seen even though I often need to repeat information to her as she can’t hear what’s being said.I completely understand that the NHS is crippled at the moment due to years of criminal underfunding by our criminally incompetent government, but this hospital is far worse than other hospitals like Stafford hospital.
