Absolutely delicious food with intense flavours and cooked with great produce. The chefs here at this restaurant offer something a bit different from others in the area with their food incorporating flavours from different cuisines and countries perfectly to no fault. A definite hats of to the chefs here at The Gaff and keep it up.The tapas style dishes works brilliantly with this type of menu allowing you to try lots of different dishes. Came here for a lunch having booked a few weeks before, the staff here are really friendly and knowledgeable complimenting their top notch service. The prices are reasonable and in my opinion offer excellent value for the food you're getting and how it's being cooked.I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in or passing Abergavenny for a lunch or dinner service.

The Gaff is tucked away off the main street and you can instantly tell you're in for an experience as you step through the door. The decor is lovely and staff welcoming. You pick a range of dishes like in a tapas and they come out as they are ready. We had, oyster, pork cromisque, tiger prawns, beef sirloin, bang bang cauliflower, purple sprouting brocoli with satay and rosemary friesEvery dish was exquisite and cooked with care. What a gem.

A gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! Food was great and staff was very attentive. We have quite a few allergies, and they had prepared a menu clearly identifying our dietary requirements and also served certain dishes separately to cater for our different requirements in our group. Every single dish was beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the fish dishes and their crispy thin batter.

Overall, The Gaff is a delightful dining destination that I often recommend to friends and family. The staff is exceptional, and the layout and ambiance are charming. However, in recent years, I've noticed that the prices have become somewhat inflated for the portion sizes offered. As a long-time London resident, I am no stranger to high-priced meals, but even by my standards, it feels a bit excessive for what is provided. For instance, the duck dish is priced at around £16-£18, but only consists of three rather small slices of breast. While the taste is wonderful and I can appreciate the quality and effort that goes into the dishes, I believe that there needs to be a balance where cost aligns with value, regardless of other factors. It is still a lovely establishment, and I will continue to recommend it to others. However, it would be nice to feel that you're receiving a bit more for the price you pay.

Was lucky enough to visit on a Wednesday night so was able to try the supper club menu, 3 courses for £26 which is very reasonable. Food was delicious and staff were nice. No exceptional service noted though, usually wait staff make conversation or say something friendly but they were all very professional here (too professional? I like a bit of chitchat). The cauliflower bang bang was not to my taste but the rest of the food was good and great value for money portion wise. One gripe I have is that the menu didn’t have any V/GF signs which is unusual to see nowadays. I have dietary requirements so I felt a bit unwelcome here with my specific needs; i had to ask questions about each dish and the staff obliged.

Small plates restaurant" becomes more and more popular concept nowadays. But the Gaff still does it better than most I've been to. It's a mix of different flavors

This is a fabulous little place with a five star for everything. The welcome, the staff, the fuss they make over you, attention to detail, food is Michelin star you cannot want for anything better. The small ( not small ) plates a delicious experience. And not London prices it is family friendly all the way and a great couples experience. Cannot wait for the next visit thank you all and Steve your all fab.
