Main meal was fantastic. Highly recommended. However, when we couldn't eat the apple dessert, because it was flavourless, the waitress was Clearly annoyed by this, and could only keep telling us that a customer nearby had enjoyed theirs. Was given a reduction, but only £3 overall not individually. But don't let this put you off rest of menu, it was genuinely gorgeous (just avoid apple dessert!)

Pretty decent lunch, wild boar sausages and mash. Couldn't eat all the mash and not enough gravy and peas. Sausages were tasty though. Friend has the beef stew, a bit watery bit she said it had flavour. Xmas pudding was small for £5.50. Cheesecake was nice. Not the cheapest of pub grub, would probably have a sandwich next time.

Went in for a quick drink on a Sunday afternoon. We weren't eating but wished we were as the food coming out looked amazing. Young lad offered us a table and gave table service despite only wanting drinks, will definitely go back to try the tempting sunday roast.

Amanda and her excellent team provided an absolutely exemplary service for a family funeral reception. Food excellent and great value; great private bar area, cosy and full of character; friendly staff; booking professionally and impeccably managed. Highly recommended.

5 stars for the pub itself and the very friendly staff, but 3 stars for the food unfortunately. Lovely old pub with a great beer garden. We visited on a sunny Sunday and it was marvelous soaking up the sun drinking a cold Estrella. The beef roast was a bit of a let down, the veggies we're soggy, the meat a little tough, and the Yorkie was a bit old. Will give them another chance as my partner says she's had a few good meals here.

The food was good but the service was a massive disappointment, the bar man was incredibly rude and tutted at us ordering drinks, making comments about us ordering due to the kitchen staff going on a break soon, and even snapped at my friend for offering a 20% tip due to him wanting the amount and not having to calculate it. Generally just made us feel unwelcome and an inconvenience for being there as customers, it was a massive let down on the experience and I wouldn’t return for this alone due to him being so unprofessional. A shame given that the food was quite good, it just ruined the atmosphere.

Booked a 2nd lunch visit to catch up with friends, having had a good experience the first time a few months back. However we will Not be returning, after what can only be described as the 'full fawlty towers experience '.If you like being shouted at from the minute you walk in, told you'll have to leave within an hour as they have a children's party booked in the adjoining conservatory, in an otherwise empty pub!!, then moved to the smallest table for party size we had, grubby menus for mains, no drinks/dessert menus just the staff shouting the options or showing you their ordering tablet with no prices, lack of customer service, decency and manners, generally feeling like you're being told off whenever you ask for something, and being asked for £100 more than the actual bill then this is the place for you!

Love this pub, very dog friendly too and lovely staff. Food is very good and reasonable prices, with a selection of ales available. Would definitely recommend a visit.Update: been back many times since this was first written 2 years ago, the food just seems to get better and better if that's possible, but the five of us cleaned our plates yesterday lunchtime.

£12.95 for the beed burger. Disappointingly for that lrice it doesn't come with cheese so have to pay extra if you want some. Chips was lovely and the onion rings were surprisingly nice. Orange juice was okay but my partner had a slice of orange and I didn't. Overall good experience.

Nice cosy pub ,we had a works reunion and everyone enjoyed the pub and atmosphere, there service was quick and polite, no rush returning
