Darroch View B&B
Really poor and inflexible hosting, I was made to feel like I was a burden rather than a guest. Try to avoid the Darroch View B&B if you can. I don't eat meat or dairy and it turned out to be my fault for not mentioning this before I my stay and the host then made no attempt to try and work something out for my breakfast. When I asked if I could get a small discount she said the breakfast was 'complimentary', not really sure what the second B in B&B stands for then? Went down to the local hotel for breakfast and they bent over backwards and made me feel like a very welcome guest. Also, the general facilities at the Darroch View B&B weren't great, small room with no view and a noisy fridge in the room. I don't like putting negative reviews up but this was my experience of the Darroch View B&B which left me so disappointed I couldn't just ignore/forget it.

Loved this place and would have stayed longer. We stayed in the cottage and it was perfect for 3 people. The host showed us around and pointed out anything we needed. It was very comfortable and felt like a home. The location is fine if you have a car, but walking may take a while to anything. The house was clean, came with extra blankets etc and warm. Good choice

On arrival other guests arriving after us were seen to first, ten minutes later we then received a tepid welcome, Everything in the cottage was explained but no cottage guide book was offered! The area for parking to our cottage was heavily gravelled leaving us nowhere close to park our motorcycles, forcing us to park in a public car park 80 meters away, thus carrying our panniers and rucksacks in our motorcycle gear up and downhill, steep, uneven, loose and moss covered steps to the cottage. For the price we paid for this cottage for two nights, two adults and one 9 year old soon became apparent it was overpriced-see photos we added. I add that there was no bidet, no washer, no dryer, the smell coming from the cupboard at the side of the cooker was undesired and the picture I didn't take of the glass patio door to the rear of this property did not close flush and had just a shed bolt at the top. The shop close by was already shut. Only one pub close by which we paid £111.00 for 3 meals kinda no choice to go anywhere else. This cottage was booked by my other half but I really felt compelled to write this review as this cottage needs updating to a health and safety standard, also the parking at reception area had a cliff edge with no barrier wall and the radiators were not caged, this really needs to be sorted before a child has an accident.Just incase the photos are not visible to fellow Googlers see list below.Laminated floor looks like it's been flooded at some point.Seal on back door needs replacing.Fridge needs replacing due to seal gone and visible rust.Wallpaper hanging from living room ceiling.Pet scratches at bottom of units.Mould on bathroom ceiling.Sealant needs replacing on mouldy shower and a jolly good clean.Wardrobe doors have been covered in wallpaper which is peeling off.Finish on the overall decorating needs attention.

This lady runs a tight ship!Breakfast is a generous fry up with cereal with toast jam fruit on the side and completely customized with a quick easy form you fill out when you arrive so you can choose exactly what you get in your fry up, I love this as it reduces so much unnesessary waste.Room was clean and modern.Fridge in the room is greatly appreciated, many don't offer this.Shower wasn't too bad, could do with better pressure. There were a lot of signs in the room such as one telling you that you will have to pay for any damages, this is usually a given, and you don't normally see signs declaring this so it just makes you feel a little uncomfortable I have to admit. That and the strict time frames for check in/breakfast etc. some others have found a bit restricting, our particular circumstances meant we could fit in accordingly but I can imagine it could be stressful otherwise.Overall this place was nice and I fully understand from experience an establishment has to have rules and boundaries such as check in times etc. So the owner can have a life but sometimes it can make a huge difference depending on how you communicate those rules to your customers and the tiniest bit of flexibility, for what it's worth (I'm talking 5-10 minutes here and there) goes a long way.

Stayed for one night only because it was the only one available in the área. check out at 10:00 am, and despite the fact that I was already loading my bags in the car, at 10:03 am, the lady at the reception decided to enter the house without announcing herself through the back door, and start cleaning, while my children and woman had just dressed. to mention that at 10:09 we had already left the house. We could have been faster if the shower head had enough water pressure. they left only two shampoo sachets and two shower gel sachets for 4 people. Avoid this place if you can. They are not on the business of welcoming people.

A great room with everything we needed, on the Great Glen Way. The host and the breakfast were exceptional.

The room was clean and comfortable, however, this was absolutely the worst host I have ever come across. We have had other B&Bs not like when we show up early, so we opt to arrive a little later, but not too late. Mind you, this is an INCREDIBLY small town, one bar/restaurant to go to at the only actual hotel. We arrived in town early afternoon and stayed at the bar/hotel for drinks and ended up staying for dinner when they could accommodate, so we arrived at the Darroch View a little after 7 pm. I swear, I felt like I was in high school again and my mother was yelling at me at the door. The door was opened by the host with a berating, YOU'RE LATE!" I think we were all waiting for the punchline

Lovely stay with comfortable beds, warm showers, good wifi, TV, and a fridge in the room too. Breakfast was a tasty and warm breakfast roll with yoghurt, cereal bar and juice served to us in the room due to covid19 restrictions. Would definitely recommend. B&B is accessible via stairs from the main road.

The room was clean. But small, there were two beds in the room and there was hardly any room to walk around it. The bathroom/shower was small, not too small but small. Breakfast was excellent, you can chose between different options. A great place to stay for one night if you are hiking, I would not recommend this place for more than one night.

Clean, comfortable room, lovely welcome, everything was explained to us. Breakfast was great, good choices and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfast.Enjoyed walking to the waterfalls after dinner at the local hotel. We slept well and would certainly stay here again.
