The Duchy Hospital

I really wish that I could have had one more night in hospital because after a few hours at home the pain was unbearable and my husband had to drive 12 miles each way to get some stronger medication from the hospital. The care I received was superb but I felt that I was rushed home, I do understand that one recovers more quickly at home but I was on my way home just about 24 hours after my surgery.

Having partial knee replacement done recently, I can not thank anyone enough for their time, attention, and care. Prof. London, Kate Mason, Mr. Charlton was amazing, giving me options on local or general anaesthetic. Georgia, Maria, Kate, and Fiona were all so attentive and lovely. Also, thank you to the kitchen team and amazing food. I was nervous going in, but they made my stay rather enjoyable. Thank you very much.

All of the staff were very courteous, attentive, well presented, and exceptionally friendly. At all times I was made fully aware of what was going on in preparation for my operation. The whole experience was 5 star. I was very pleased to receive a follow up call following my discharge from the hospital.

Am happy with the service. But the noise from the front desk close to room 12 , kept me awake while my door was left open by one of the staff. Toning down noise would help .

Fabulous team and very helpful, conscientious and wonderful staff. Louis in theatre was amazing and so brilliant at putting the patient at ease as was Melanie too. Martin in theatre was amazing and so caring. Rhea great too and the tea/meal gentleman Paul was a pure delight with his smiling face. Then Jess who walked me right to the front door was so kind and wonderful too. A great team and my privilege to have had Miss Laughlan to do my surgery. I thank them all so very much and applaud this hospital and its wonderful staff.

I had a full knee replacement here in September and now, in November, am well on the way to a full recovery. Every member of staff was most helpful and polite, and it would take too long to name them all: I'd particularly like to thank Mr John Mitchell the surgeon and his operating team, and Liam Chapman, the physio, who I understand is now Head of his Department. I've followed his exercises and have benefitted greatly from them. Thank you, everyone!

From the moment I arrived to the discharge staff were caring, warm, attentive and supportive. Very professional and I felt like they wanted me to have the best experience they could provide. From Professor London right through to the gentleman who provided my food, everyone did an awesome job.
