Prospect Farm Caravan and camping site

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners(? ) of the campsite. They were very friendly and helpful. Stella gave us a map of the York area and other information needed to enjoy a trip in the area.There wasn't any toilets, but an elsan point was available. There were electric hook up points available down one side of a very large field.It was a 10 minute walk to the bus stop for the bus that would take you into York.The price was £15.00 per night including electric. Although I noticed online there were other campsites in the area, they seemed to be a lot of deposits, money for this, money for that, whereas on Prospect Farm it was easy just pay £15.00 per night - sorted!One of group was ill so we had to leave the campsite, this extra night we had paid for in advance was refunded to us, very generous of the owners to do that, we didn't ask for a refund, but we're insistent we take it. A big thanks to them both, that wouldn't have been done by the majority of sites.Although on the outskirts of York, I would return again.

Lovely quiet site where the owners definitely make you feel welcome.Our Jack Russell loved being able to run around the field and the nearby woodland walk.Look forward to visiting again soon.

Ideal place to get away from the rat race, just a field with elan point, water and EHU. Nice area to walk around quite road

Wow !!! Have just spent a few days in this little part of Paradise. So quiet, peaceful and the perfect place to write a book or spend time with friends. A close friend recommended here and I was certainly not disappointed. On approach , down a gravel and grass drive , I was amazed at the flora on display. The pleasant hosts Stella and Stephen were on hand if I needed anything but weren't intrusive. I parked on a lovely level and seclusive field. If you want to take your pooch then this isn't a problem as there is a dog walkway into the woods.Nearby is the Elvington Air Museum where one can spend an informative, leisurely day looking round. For the children there is the Maize Maze along with the attractions of one of the most wonderful, quaint and historic cities in the country , York, which is only 10 mins drive away.To watch the sunset in this little Paradise is such a rewarding experience and with the hoot of an owl for company made a relaxing and calming sleep. BTW would willingly have paid a lot more. Have just booked in again for the August Bank Holiday.

What a fabulous site, the views are beautiful, the space is amazing and the owners so welcoming and helpful. We had lost a part of our leg lock and without any fuss Stephen went off and made us another. Where else do you get help like that? Great walks close by and so so peaceful. All you hear is birdsong, our first visit, a lucky find for us - we will definitely be back. Thank you.

Loving it here.26/8/22-29/8/22Back again for August bank holiday weekend. Loved it. Never will get tired of this place. Long walks in the woods. The York air museum. Loads of lovely parks in and around York. Although there isn't a toilet block on site, there is an Elsan point, electric hook up and for £15p/n inclusive, I'm not going to moan. Very dog friendly and the owners dog Jack, will likely give a great welcome to the whole family. Stella always greets everyone like long lost friends. Can't wait to go back.

Nice well kept site with electric hook ups. Stayed as part of a rally with Yorkshire Friendly Ralliers. Owners are a lovely couple. And thanks for letting me park outside your home with my motorhome whilst I helped to take down our clubs marquee. Thanks again, Brian.

Can’t speak highly enough of our visit to prospect farm site near York. If your looking for peace and quiet with a dog friendly owner and dog walk from large grassy field this is the place. Our first visit but won’t be our last. Saw deer and heard owls a real treasure. York 10 minutes drive if that’s your thing
