SWD Essex Windows and Doors: Double Glazing Basildon, Essex

Had our windows fitted by Lee and Nick yesterday, cannot thank or praise these two enough. Apart from being polite and courteous, the quality of their work is brilliant as is the attention to detail with the windows. The job was done tidily and no mess was left. I cant believe what a difference they have made to the rooms, I cant stop looking at them! We would thoroughly recommend these two and the Company. Thank you so much.

I’ve had to think hard about whether I post a review or not for SWD as I’ve had such a varied experience.Everyone I’ve spoken to at SWD are friendly and approachable. No issues there. Vincent the fitter was ace. On time and made sure I was happy throughout the installation.There have been a few issues along the way though and I think based on these, I’d say we’ve had a more negative experience over a positive.- First of all we had two windows ordered. One was arched and more complex to put together. A fitting date was arranged but then the glass for the arch hadn’t been delivered, so we had to arrange a further date for the arched window. I can accept this as the Bay window actually took most of the day to install anyway. I then paid £2000 over the phone.- On installation of the arched window I noticed quite a deep scratch on the glass. I called SWD to inform them and after an hour or so I was informed new glass would be ordered however they would need to take a partial payment. The person on the phone then tried to take another £2000 off my credit card but luckily this declined due to my credit card limit. When it declined I realised what was going on and told the person I had already paid £2000 to which he was very apologetic (as nobody had updated our case notes) and said he would order the glass and call back once ready.- Fast forward a week and a half later and I got a phone call from SWD stating they had to send someone to remeasure the window so they could order the glass (they didn’t have a copy as it was sent to the glass manufacturer)! By this point I just wanted the saga to end so I offered to accept money off the damaged window. £170 was knocked off the price which I accepted.Custom Contact issues:So many calls backwards and forwards. One person called me to arrange a fitting date for the Arched window. I said I’d have to confirm. I called back but they were busy and then never heard back from them. I called the day before the date I had been given and finally got confirmation that it would go ahead.A drainage cap was missing from the arched window which Vincent said he would pop down at a later date. He hasn’t - but for the sake of £4 I’ve ordered a couple anyway.The Fitter: As I said before I can’t fault the work done to actually install the windows. This part has been completely fine. Due to all the messing about re the second window Vincent even sorted out our cracking plaster around the window and put in a new window cill as an apology.In all I’m undecided how I feel…Pros: Friendly staff and approachable. Good fitter.Negative: After-sales customer service lacking and admin issues.

Bad products and even worse after care. Nobody calls back when requested and my front door is about to fall off its hinges after 6 years of constant adjustment and new hinges and now a blown window panel!....6 months on and still not fixed... Finally after a year it's all fixed!! Wohoo!! Another year on and hinges have almost broken. Think I'll buy new hinges and do it myself

Had a window removed and french doors put in. Job done over 2 days in December 2020. The fitters did an exellent job and were very tidy. Very pleased with the service and price of the doors. Doors allow so much more light into the room and can't wait now for better weather. Would definitely recommend.

Can’t recommend this company enough. We have referred many friends and family and all have been over the moon with the service provided by SWD Windows. From the fitting of our windows and doors to the continued service years on. We recently had a problem and Malcom was extremely helpful, the service he provided was first class. Our flooring was all replaced which meant the trimming needed changing via our doors and a window needed some attention. This was no problem Malcolm and his team provided Great communication throughout.If you are looking for a reliable and reputable company look no further.I’m an existing Customer of 10 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. 5* business.

Great company, honest staff that actually care and not just out for a quick buck , no pressure sales from Ian when getting quotes and always do what they say they will do.Probably the most friendly and tidy working fitters I have ever come across and couldn’t be any happier with the doors and bifolds we have had fitted !Great company and couldn’t recommend them enough , speak to you soon guys when we are ready for the windows to be done .

SWD Essex windows and doors were fantastic from the moment I enquired to the moment they were finished. Their communication was spot on through out and we were never harassed in to making any decisions (which we have experienced with other companies before).Our fitter Lee was superb throughout the 3 days that he was with us. He barely ever stopped, was always tidy and was always very punctual too. We were expecting a certain amount of disruption but there was none at all, the whole process couldn't have been easier. We would not hesitate to use them again and would certainly recommend!

Had windows fitted end of Nov 2020. From the rep visiting us to the finish very pleased. Rep not pushy. Proud of the windows that they would supply and came back next day with a proper written quote. The men were tidy and laid dust sheets everywhere and cleaned up. Even when fitting a small window that cracked they told us to withhold some of the payment until its sorted, week later all done. We have more windows to change later this year in 2021 and have no hesitation in asking them to fit them. Recommend them as they also kept us informed.

SWD supplied and fitted a total of 6 windows to the upstairs of my property. The whole process from start to finish was excellent. No pushy sales, straight forward quotation and the installation was top notch, the fitter Vince was professional, polite and very tidy. We were so impressed we will be getting them back to do the downstairs windows next time. I would definitely recommend SWD.

We replaced an old bay window and door with modern double glazed units. SWD gave us a competitive quote for the work. Everything went smoothly from start to finish and the work was carried out quickly. Minimal mess during the installation process and all the staff that we met were friendly and polite. Would recommend this company to others.
