Drumahoe District Park

Lovely walk

Nice park in Drumahoe, beside the park and ride. It has a tarmac flat path around the park and large grassed are inside the path with a football pitch. Lovely wooded areas and close to the Faughan river. Only a couple of miles from Altnagelvin hospital.

Lovely spot for a leisurely walk.

Lovely, peaceful and quiet park, very spacious and a plesent area to have a quiet walk. Links to a kids play area.

This park is very nice and has plenty to do for locals and visitors. There is a small amount of parking on the Glenshane road side but much more parking, a full car park and two multi use games area pitches on the Drumahoe road side. There are two playparks and one outdoor fitness area. There are no restrooms or facilities. There is a roughly 1km paved loop around the park which is well finished for cycling, roller skating, walking or jogging. The park is dog friendly with one half being longer grass and one half kept shorter. There is more than enough space to enjoy the grass and play football, picnic or relax in the good weather. The paved loop has some benches and bins as well as dog fouling bins dotted around. There is a small off road trail leading between the two parks that has stairs, seating and a short mountain bike path. Access to the river from the front or rear of the park makes this a good access point for fishing or for walking pets near a small shore. There is a path leading back from the river to Drumahoe road, but it is perilous and poorly kept.

Nice area for walks and the paths are nice and smooth for skateboarding, we used to bring boys here to learn how to cycle. They recently added some exercise equipment.
