[See Edit Below] Disgraceful staff attitude. At first we were amazed by the lights and discussing how we would love to come back for a purchase, then upon inspecting a box of light bulbs, a grumpy female staff member interrupted her phone call to tell us rudely “Do you have to touch everything?”. We didn’t know what to say as we were just reading the box and this disgraceful attitude is no way to treat a browsing customer. I shall not be shopping here and I will make sure to discourage others tooEdit: Thank you for the reply. I have read your previous responses and I would like to make some clarifications.1. We apologise for taking pictures in the store, as we did not notice it was not allowed until afterwards. We were not intentionally being “rude”, we were enjoying your lighting and wanted to share the store through photographs although we did not notice the sign. We apologise, and perhaps the sign could be made more obvious for future customers. Secondly, rude and inappropriate comments from staff members to unknowing customers is highly unprofessional; a simple “excuse me, we don’t allow photos” would suffice rather than a comment with an attitude.2. By no means were we browsing “for a laugh”. We entered the store out of amazement at the displays, then browsing the lights and catalogues (as any customer would). We were happy and laughing as we were enjoying an afternoon out shopping, and there is nothing amusing about a lighting showroom to suggest we only went in to ‘have a laugh’. There is a stigma around teenagers/students laughing and being ‘up to no good’ however we were simply having a good time and genuinely enjoying the lighting, that was until we received the rude comment. Age should not be a barrier to receive a different level of appropriate customer service than to any other customer.3. We were not “touching everything”, only specific touch lamps advertised as such, and anyone in a showroom would want to test out such features. Touching catalogues is very normal, catalogues are designed for customers to touch and browse the products inside. Touching a box of light bulbs is also very normal, for a purchase the customer is required to read specification details on the side of the box to make sure it is the right product, however for us students, browsing light bulbs is apparently only “for a laugh”. Generally, touching and taking photographs of products is quite an essential part of visiting a showroom…4. Regardless of the actions, or accused actions, of customers, it is the courteous responsibility of staff members to act with a level of respect towards all customers, and as section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act outlines, traders must perform service with ‘reasonable care and skill’. We believe this level of ‘care’ was not met during our visit and shows an overall lack of respect from staff towards the company itself, and the local community.We take responsibility for our actions, which were harmless, although disobeying a sign which could be made clearer. However, the responses we have received from the company regarding our experience have been utterly disrespectful and unprofessional with a lack of responsibility. Calling customers ‘rude’ over Google Reviews is unprofessional and rather childish. The lack of responsibility in response to our reviews reflects negatively on your company, and the failure to acknowledge your staff member’s inappropriate comments further demonstrates your overall lack of care towards your consumers. Anyone who works with customers knows that this is a highly unprofessional way to respond to a situation, which has since been exacerbated over the review page due to the lack of responsibility and courtesy. Customer service is the key to good trade, and from a designer’s point of view this reflects badly on the company, and I shall not be recommending your lighting to any friends, family, or future clients.

Very rude customer service. Honestly should not be allowed to run a business with how they speak to their customers. We came in browsing as we were interior designers and was looking for inspiration, one of my friends picked up an led light that she wanted to purchase and showed us. The women who worked there said in a very rude tone “you don’t have to touch everything”. That was the first item we had picked up. We walked straight out as we weren’t going to be treated like that. We weren’t even being loud or misbehaving. After this we left a review and to them reply with our group was being rude… I’d like for them to explain how we were being rude. We want an apology for how they acted towards us. I don’t recommend waisting your time shopping here as extremely rude service!

Excellent customer service. Love the lights from here. After sales service is great.Very helpful staff.Jo at the shop has been helpful, kind and humble and helped us during selection. We needed a particular light very urgently and they stripped the display light. Thank you for all your support.We love this place and highly recommend to all.

Very disappointed. Owner treated us like dirt (perhaps as we did not dress in suit and tie?). We did actually buy a fan, rang and paid on credit card. On picking item up the attitude was dreadful. The owner (or manager) was again disdainful. They INSISTED on a paper being signed as it was ex demo, yet we had not seen them take it down. As it happened they had taken the fan down in the quickest possible way making it extremely heavy and ungainly to work on. Would never go there again. Terrible attitude. Who do they think they are? The customer is what keeps your business going. Perhaps we did not spend enough

Cannot rate highly enough. From the moment we walked in, we were guided to the best options for us. Excellent customer service, unusual nowadays! Unfortunately one of the items was damaged, called the store and was replaced without hesitation! Our go to for beautiful affordable lighting. Already looking at our next purchase! Would give more stars if possible.

I ordered a lampshade from you. Went to collect and found the female staff member very abrupt. She handed over the shade with her unfriendly manner. I had to ask for a bag as the shade was not wrapped and I was not offered one.When I asked for a bag the miserable staff member reluctantly gave me one and pointed to the charity box and said if you put some money in the charity box!!" . Her attitude was very unprofessional..This isn't the 1st time this lady has been rude.I will never return to this shop !"
