Sketty Medical Centre

The journey at this surgery is sub standard, I also speak for the Killay surgery. The doctors are always fantastic, they are so polite and genuinely want to see their patients get better and I cannot fault them. They are not the first point of contact, however. Every receptionist I have spoken to has been rude and condescending, this goes for the last 2 years where I have needed to call or visit either surgery. I understand that patients can be frustrating to deal with at times, but it is a constant occurrence to be treated rudely. I've experienced this over the phone, in person and have sat in waiting rooms and witnessed this behaviour to other patients too. It's completely unacceptable. I'm sorry to leave such a terrible review this morning, but I have called up today and been interrupted, talked over and generally had another bad experience.

not enough doctors at all it covers 3 big aeras they can’t managed it it took me 2/5 weeks to reach a doctor and for my husband was too late ended up in hospital , they keep forgetting some of repeat prescriptions even mixed up with someone else s prescriptions

The doctors are really fantastic but the receptionists are bloody useless. Zero common sense, make a mountain out of a molehill, problem oriented attitudes - never able to look at the bigger picture. Zero empathy or compassion. Real nightmare - however all doctors are competent, efficient and good at their jobs. Would recommend for the doctors (if you can get past the receptionist that says NO to everything)I will give one extra star so it’s gone from 1 star to 2 stars as I called back and Debbie was slightly more helpful and resolved my issue in 30 seconds which the other receptionist refused to listen properly to or help. However - I shouldn’t have to persist and keep calling back. Employ more helpful staff!!

Without exception, the staff here are great. There's a variety of ways to get an appointment or advice from one of the practice team, and if you need a same day appointment, you get one. You can phone, use askmygp or my health online. The best GP practice I've ever had

Suffering from 40c fever since last 3 days, called at 8:30am for an appointment and there were 85 in Q. I opted for a call back and I missed the call back so immediately called back to only hear that are full and asked me to try tomorrow.Such wonderful process. Why woudnt anyone be upset if this is how the process is?

Can’t book an appointment. You need to take your chance on the day, hoping they have availability. Essentially means endless daily calling in the hopes you’d receive the service that you pay tax for.

I can’t speak highly enough of the surgery in Killay. We’ve been with them for 25 years.I usually use Killay, but sometimes go to Sketty. I think they’re an excellent practise. At least you can speak to a Dr if you ring in the morning. Not all surgeries provide this service.If I’ve forgotten to order a prescription, and need the medication, i can ring and have it the same day. The staff are very helpful.I think we should be very grateful to have 2 surgeries close to home.I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Huge thank you to both Killay and Sketty Medical centres especially to Dr Segar and the staff at Sketty centre who stayed late this evening to accommodate seeing my little boy.They could have said no and to call back tomorrow and they would have been completely within their rights and that’s what I was expecting when we dropped in late in the day. They didn’t, they went above and beyond, they all stayed late to help and we are so so grateful. Thank you all!
