Lack of food for a 6pm sitting. A birthday party of 13 people. Order taken at 6.30. Waitress advised there were no Yorkshire pudding wraps but we could have ordinary wraps. Settled for these but we're then told there were no ordinary wraps either. Those having carvery were fine, but the vegetarian options were minimal. Bill did not represent what was ordered and it took management to sort out. After much discussion we were given discount on the bill. Felt the young waiting staff needed more support from management. The girl serving us was lovely but had to carry messages back and forth on what was off the menu. Situation needs further investigating or more custom will be lost.

The food is always fab here. The service is always good and today we were served by Katie. What a great person she is. Made us feel welcome. Great attention to detail and attended to everything for us. The place was packed but you wouldn't know it with the service we got. We didn't have to wait for our food and we wernt made to feel rushed either. Thanks to everyone in there today but especially Katie. Staff like her amazing.

Had an amazing young man helping us when we arrived. He went through all of my options being gluten and dairy free and was extremely thorough in the entire process to ensure I knew what I could/couldn’t have on the carvery. Based on this experience alone I’d definitely return! Unfortunately I didn’t get the man’s name but he was extremely helpful

I had previously visited this Toby Carvery for the first time a few months back and we thought it was great. Having subsequently visited the Toby Carvery at Kingston Park which is closer to our home but we didn't feel was as good, we decided to visit the Shiremoor restaurant again as we had enjoyed it so much.I have to say, we were both disappointed. I got an extremely thin slice of turkey and a couple of tiny bits off the end of a beef joint. I'm not a huge meat eater so that was fine. However, the rest of the offering was also disappointing. The brussels sprouts were barely warm and tasteless and I have to say the majority of the vegetables were barely warm. There was no layered potatoes left in the tray (dauphinoise potatoes) and there was none of the gravy with onions that we had really enjoyed at our last visit. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy but I had to ask twice for our bill.This last visit has put me off visiting again to be honest. I hope you find this feedback constructive.Kind RegardsPaula

I love a Toby. If you get a 50% of voucher, if you love a Toby too do not go. Go and pay full price another time as you will have a much better experience. This is not a reflection on the staff as no doubt they are having a poor experience during these occasions also.

Reliable quality roast dinner. The Yorkshires were pale golden and moist inside, unlike the overdone dark brown ones you so often get. Service was good. All in all, we had an excellent value, enjoyable family meal.

We stood over 5 minutes waiting for someone to show us the table I had previously booked . The waitress told us the food wasn’t ready and she would tell me when we could queue. After 25 minutes we asked when it was out turn only to be told “you just queue” the meat was so tuff we couldn’t eat it and the rest was cold. We asked for week coffee and that was like mud. We complained only to be told the waitress would pass it on to the chef! We won’t be returning.

Never again! We've eaten here since it opened, but definitely for the last time after today. Chef has changed and the food is disgusting. Actually, no original staff. The waiting staff were keeping the restaurant clean. Boiled bacon, what are you thinking? It was grey, hard, no taste and stuck together from then roasting it in an oven! Sausages tasteless, eggs under cooked, hash browns hard and cold, like the rest of the food, tinned tomatoes were lovely, couldn't really get them wrong, toast made by myself was hot and tasty with lurpak, mushrooms were nice and potato hash was tasty but cold. My husband and I watched other customers pushing their plates away, half eaten, and heard a woman say she couldn't eat 'that'. I don't blame her as I done exactly the same. Save yourself the disappointment and eat elsewhere.

Early afternoon visit with %50 off deal. The food was excellent well stocked and hot. The team member that looked after me was very attentive and helpful she made sure I was welcome and understood the process.
