I have always received excellent service here, professional and sound advice offered, even when shopping as a complete novice which can be daunting. Fast forward a few years and I have my trusty C&J’s for almost every occasion. On the one occasion I had an issue, it was resolved quickly. Wholeheartedly recommend, classic British shoemaker.

Really traditional classy shoe retailer. Excellent quality and variety of traditional footwear and the staff and atmosphere are very welcoming. Staff are not aggressive or pushy at all...quite the opposite and very friendly and helpful...don’t understand any negative reviews. Just purchased my first pair of wing-tip brogues with rubber sole for winter-wear and the shoes scream quality and attention to detail. We need to preserve and support institutions like this...they are becoming rarer by the day.

Fabulous place where past meet present to the highest level of craftsmanship and close to butler service to find you your own special pair of shoes. Unbelievable value for money and to my knowledge one of the only remaining English shoes manufacturers to remain in Britain and still under the same family (even Church has been bought by Prada, guess what that means...). Amazing shoes for ladies and gentleman from any background and lifestyle. I have rediscovered this place again and have no idea how I have missed them all those years... A wonderful shop with shoes and boots of superb quality. The staff, who make visits both pleasurable and efficient, are helpful, attentive, and professional. Everything is extremely satisfactory and, for someone willing to pay for an impressively durable pair of high-caliber shoes, this is a magnificent place which I highly recommend.

I was so impressed by the service I received approximately six weeks ago. I bought the most expensive pairs of shoes possible as they were of the highest quality. The correct shoe size felt incredibly tight, to the extent that I thought I should buy half size larger.Ricky, one of two highly experienced professionals, guided me back to by the true size which felt uncomfortably tight. He patiently explained that, in addition to a number of logical of reasons, the shoes would stretch due to the quality of leather and that the soles would compress. He informed me with 100% conviction, having carefully measured my feet and assessing the fit, that “they would fit perfectly“ after a couple of weeks of discomfort/effort.This advice was proven precisely correct and the very expensive shoes are now perfectly moulded to my feet and becoming old friends already! Additionally going forwards, as advised, they will not overstretch and give me blisters in due course.He has my custom forever and deserves a pay rise…Thank you Ricky!Yours sincerelyEdward T
