Curlew Weavers Woollen Mill
Really interesting little place, selling their own woven products. It's not possible to look around due to covid, so there is little to do, but of you want blankets, scarfs or woollen fabric it's worth a visit

Very hard to reach. Narrow tortuous lanes. The son of the proprietor said it was one of only two working mills around.

We have been working with Roger since 2008 when we diversified with our farm and founded Romney Marsh Wools. Roger has a wonderful traditional mill and produces beautiful quality yarns and blankets for us which we then sell onto our customer. We love the family business, their ethos and the fact that Roger takes on apprentices and passes on his invaluable knowledge and skills to future generations. We are very proud to be able to have our wool processed here.

We stopped in here on a trip last year. The mill is a fascinating place and we phoned in an order a few weeks later for some lovely upholstery fabric that now adorns two chairs in our living room

For the last 3 years Roger has made our rare breed fleeces into throws, blankets etc & now also knitting yarn. He has done a fantastic job. Lovely to see someone so passionate about about their work, it really is a vocation for Roger.

A very interesting and worthwhile visit. Good to see our traditional wool industry still in existence. It's nice to buy something that you can see what goes into making it.

Curlew weavers is the foremost west wales wool fabric supplier and should be a first stop for all designer fashionistas and the style cognescenti. Trading for years in this bucolic idyll it recalls a distant and happy childhood you are bound to fall under the spell of it. GO THERE NOW and spread the word on this hidden gem.

Loved my visit there many years ago. Ordered a blanket when I was there and had it shipped to me back in the USA. Wish I could get another done but they don’t seem to have any way to contact them on the internet!

Wonderful blankets with lovely heritage. Don't be fooled by the building exterior, which is late 20th century. Inside is a treat of working heritage machines still in use today. The machine (below) that was used to weave the rare breed blankets I purchased was from 1926. Ceri was extremely helpful, gave us a tour of the mill and walked us through the fascinating process, including the first machines he first worked as a boy when the mill was run by his grandparents.
