Herne Bay Beach

A shingle beach, old fashioned feel to it, which is fine by me!Very popular with swimmers and families. Some parts of the beach shelve quite steeply in places, others nice and flat - easy to see when the tide is out.Lots of activities around the beach area - arcades, crazy golf, gardens, play areas, and fish and chips, of course!A lovely pier (which is where Google have taken their photo from).My photos are looking back towards the pier after two days out with the family there.Definitely worth a visit if you want to enjoy a classic, east Kent seaside town.

Full of rude, loud and desperate people who can’t control their dogs…so basically the English.Pebble beach and a high street that was left behind about a century ago.If you want to get a sense of being in a lovecraftian book, then this is the place for you, except the people are more ugly than those found in innsmouth.Don’t believe people if they say herne bay is picturesque, because it isn’t at all. Stick to Whitstable or better yet go abroad.People like to seem to gather at the sewage outlet signs, perhaps they worship the effluence? Making it even more lovecraftian.If you want to be on a beach with no peace, constant jet skiers that sound like revving cars and people playing music then this is for you.

Such a lovely and clean beach! Thoroughly enjoyed spending the day here! Lucky enough to get the fresh doughnuts (great memories of my childhood)! Hubby was super happy as he got his slush puppy! Chip shop and other restaurants are all walking distance and all the facilities are just great! I’d definitely recommend this beach and will be coming back here! Nice to see some celebrities too!!!

Lovely beach with some amusements and a great nature walk just the other side of the beach

Very good beach and sea front. It’s not Sandy beach but we still have a nice day out. There are part of the beach you can swim but water was too cold today, so didn’t have a swim. There is sea front paid car parking for up to 4 hours, but you should find free ones further away from the sea. Cafe and Toilet near the west side of the beach where you can get coffee and tea and ice cream.

Everytime we visit, we enjoy something different. A sandy beach with calm water and suitable every kinds of water sports. Clean and safe.

Loved it, great ice-cream and huge amusement arcade. The pier was sad, but I'm sure in the height if summer it is great.

Lovely pebbly beach, nice pier with food arts and crafts and beer. High Street a little run down but some nice eateries

Beautiful beach. Clear water.The pier has bathroom, shower and restaurants.Parking is limited but you can pay by Ringgo.
